I've been reading the news heavily about this whole ukraine protest and fights going on and looks like some games might be called off as i know spurs are playing dnipro,Valencia have a game against Dynamo Kiev and lyon are also going to be in the Ukraine. On the spurs forum i am on , one of the spurs fans actually lives in Kiev and has said that all the trains have been cancelled, the metro is also offline now and there are huge amounts of violence. There has supposedly been some protests in other cities but nothing like kiev. The issue though is that a load of fans from different countries will be flying into the ukraine to Kiev and then travelling from there which will be impossible if all the trains are cancelled.

Those riot police seem really badly trained. I wonder how many of them agree with the Protesters and are just being forced to do their job.

Can someone briefly summarize what is going on over there?

I would really, really doubt any football matches will be taking place there soon

you would think not but UEFA haven't said no yet and nobody has even said a word from the FA. It's crazy if it goes ahead.

The stories/images of Ukraine recently have been both fascinating and horrifying.

Is this expected to continue for months or is there a possible end to this in sight?

I was under the impression you meant the game was going ahead in Ukraine, which is why i was kinda incredulous at the notion

the spurs and Lyon ones still are, at least they had sense to move the kiev one.
