It annoys me when things are not open on a weekend.

I also loathe working on a weekend.

The irony is simply delicious.

From someone who has to work late on wednesdays every week take it from me: most workers are quite happy to go and buy things on their lunch breaks as opposed to shopping at 7.

Who the hell wants to be shopping after work when you could be spending time with loved ones/posting on gr/playing video games/having tea?

To be fair I hated doing that at lunch, who wants to spend their hour walking around the same bloody town they work in, buy something and realise they have wasted their lunch :(

Its because of the climate. Here's the deal: Countries where its basically too hot to go out in the middle of the day - shops open in the morning and early evening. Countries where it's dark at 5 o clock and likely to be raining, shops open during the day time.

Yes, logic can be boring.

No weather on the internet though :->

Why close your shop when people who do a 9-5 shift just finish work?

I know a a few shops will now stay open until 8/10 or whatever, but I'm mainly talking about shops on the high street.

It's something that really confuses me, surely it would make alot for sense for high street shops to stay open unitl 8 or even 10?

I noticed this more this year after living out in London. There most places shut at 8 but here it's always half 5 or 6 which was really annoying whenever I would come home from London in the evening as nothing would be open. Though I guess it's good in a sense that it would stop me spending money unnecessarily :P

This. Shops are also busier at lunch time with people who have this idea so it takes longer to do anything and you will indeed end up wasting your time.

What annoys me is that some banks only open until lunchtime on a Saturday. In fact, this lack of attention to people who work bloody hard annoys me in all sorts of ways. Like the customer services people who call you up on a Tuesday when you're rushing to deadline and expect you to confirm your details with them before they reveal what they're calling about. I just tell them I don't have time and hang up.

Go earlier on Sunday? Some places close at 5 (most places in Manchester city centre do, I think).

I think if my place of work opened any later on a Sunday, there wouldn't be a person in the store who would offer to work it. In fact, we would all refuse outright.
