Also one pro is that they have a points system like GAME . I use shopto often because of this as you also get discounts on games the more you use them.
They are really quirky and have strange restrictions (you have to send to the address your card is registered to for a while, so can't get things delivered to work or send them as gifts).
I used them exclusively for years until I had a couple of things not turn up, they have a really convoluted system to get a replacement (which includes waiting 3 weeks before they'll even listen to you), and then after I'd had two things go missing out of probably 70-80 orders they said that if anything else went missing they'd refuse to refund/replace (which has got to be illegal?).
Shopto's weird. For some people it's more problems, but myself I've only had minor problems which didn't stop me ordering them. I know one of members who used to post here had his credit card details used because Shopto had bad security or something, and my mate has Amiibos missing for ages.
But yeah, the refund thing is stupid. Well you do get it kind of, but you just get it "added" to your store credit if you cancel order that's already taken your money, which forces you to spend it on Shopto instead of having it back into your bank account. Surely illegal too.
I've only had minor issues with them such as
- I ordered Xbox One with Halo MCC, Play & Charge Kit and Sunset Overdrive. The package arrived, but no sign of Sunset Overdrive. I emailed them and they said it was meant to be included with the system, apologised, and asked me if I wanted digital or physical which was nice of them. Went with physical, and it arrived next day. - Had my games arriving day late, which is bit weird. Had it happening bit a lot recently so I just go Amazon unless it's super cheap at Shopto. - The refund thing. I pre-paid a game not expecting it to drop in price before release date, so I asked if it was possible to refund the difference. As what I said earlier, it's non-refundable... just gets added to your account wallet so you're pretty much forced to spend it at Shopto.
Up until going digital recently, I made most of my gaming purchases from ShopTo.
Yay! + Games are posted via free first-class Royal Mail + For in-stock items, order a game today and it will usually arrive tomorrow; they even email you a photo of the package + The vast majority of my pre-orders arrived the day before release + Prices are pretty good; more so if you buy a fair amount and migrate up to Silver and Gold membership
Hmmn - My launch-day (Friday) Wii U console pack was incorrect; but they did send a replacement to arrive on the Monday. Frustrating at the time, but they quickly sorted it out - The refund- in-credit approach is a pain. To get around this, never pay in advance; just pre-order using a card and you'll only be charged on dispatch
Personally I just use Amazon and GAME now, Amazon have incredible customer service if anything goes wrong and GAME, while expensive are good because you always have the option to return stuff to the store. I seem to build up a lot of money on my reward card too, which goes some way to alleviating the fact they're usually a little more expensive.

That sounds like the system the Royal Mail uses for lost post. Which is probably what's happening: ShopTo is getting a refund off the Royal Mail before they hand it back to you.
