So before i spunk a couple of hundred on a brown leather jacket i saw in a shop the other day, was just wondering if folk had a nice one themselves and could recommend anywhere.

Brown is a necessity as >> black unless you're on a motorbike

Don't really see appeal, seems quite old fashioned to have a leather jacket.

I don't have a leather jacket but in the spirit of the occasion wanted to mention I just bought a lovely new pair of cow skin boots.

That reminds me of a manager I worked with who was a really preachy vegetarian but wore leather shoes. He'd come over and pass snarky comments like "Are you eating bits of dead pig again?" to which I'd reply "Indeed, they match the bits of dead cow on your feet".

Personally I think black only suits a more rough/rugged/rocker type while the brown is better for a more classical smart-casual look.
