I've just been chatting with a colleague when, mid-conversation, her phone went. She answered and it was her sister, who she apparently doesn't get on with. She promptly told her to strawberry float off and then blocked her number. None of us knew she had a sister, and she just said they don't get along. Fair enough, and I didn't ask any more than that, but I can't imagine having a sibling and not being in touch with them.

Do you guys have siblings? If so, do you get on with them? What's the age gap? How often do you see them, etc? If you don't get along, why not?

I have 2 sisters, 1 is 2 years older than me and lives locally who I see fairly regularly (once a fortnight on average I guess), although we text more often, normally about nostalgia stuff like if I see a film from our childhood or something.

My younger sister (the vegan, I've mentioned her before I think) is 4 years younger than me and lives in New York, so I only see her twice a year at best (summer and Christmas). We talk less frequently but that's not because we don't get on, it's just hard to have regular contact with full-time work and the time difference.

I know people who don't see or get on with their siblings and whilst it's a shame, it's up to them I guess.

I have a sister and two brothers. They are all great. I'm in daily contact with them.

I have a brother who's about 4 years younger than me.
He's a bit of a banana split sometimes but not too bad overall.

One brother, five year age gap(he’s younger). We’re in pretty much daily contact, mostly dog related or to do with Celtic.

I've got a brother 1 year older than me and a sister 2 years younger. We get on great thankfully! Brother is now in Scotland and my sister lives in England. We keep in touch almost daily via phone apps.

3 older brothers. Oldest is 11 years older than me. The oldest one is also the reason I support Liverpool. We all get on, my bro's would have far stronger Dublin accents than me, so much so that when we get together I'm known as the 'posh' one. As anyone here who has played games online with me I'm definitely not. The Second oldest bro's accent is so thick sometimes I can't understand what he's saying.

We all have kids, I have just the one, and between the rest we've populated north Dublin with 8 boys and 2 girls. My girl is the youngest and is quite the novelty to my parents.

I have one younger brother, he’s just over 2 years younger. We get on ok but he is not much of a talker/texter so we only really see each other if we happen to be visiting somebody else at the same time.

My parents are divorced and have their own partners now, so I sort of have 3 stepbrothers as well, I get on ok with them but they don’t really feel like family as we didn’t grow up together and they are all 14-16 years younger than me.

Three elder sisters, eldest is 10 years older than me (I didn't know she existed until the day of my mum's funeral), next eldest is 3 years older than me then the next is about 2 years older.

I get on really well with my closest sister. We see each other maybe once or twice a year. Next eldest sister I've not seen for about 11 years and the eldest I see about once every two years.

I have a sister and she is a selfish banana split so I don't speak to her. Apparently she has a kid now, don't give a gooseberry fool.

One elder brother, we probably see each other every few months on average. Either going back home to see parents or going to a gig as we have similar music tastes. He only sends the odd message on whatsapp, probably because I'm likely to read it and never respond

I have 2 older brothers and we get on great. Which by that I mean that we argue like kids whenever we all get together and tend to have constant banter over videogames and wrestling and seeing who can wind up our parents the best!

The best times are Sunday lunch when we all go back to mum and dad's, bringing our kids too and it's just like a continuation of our childhood. Couldn't be luckier really.

S'good that most of us get on with our siblings (apart from Ad7 - vaguely remember you talking about her...was she stealing from your parents or something?). I have nothing in common with my brother in terms of hobbies/interests, but we get on well and I couldn't imagine not being in touch with him. Text every few days but we live in different parts of the country so I only see him a couple of times a year in person.

I have two younger siblings, my brother who is roughly 3 years younger than me, and my sister who is almost 14 years younger.

Get on equally well with both of them despite my sister being so much younger than both my brother and myself, in fact she often acts like she's the eldest (and has done from an early age).

I've got two older brothers and a younger sister.

I get on with them all now, but my sister and one of my brothers haven't spoken to eachother for a good 3 or 4 years. All because of a Facebook rant. :fp:

I have a sister 2 years younger and a brother 4 years younger.

Since I moved out of the family home 17 years ago on average I've probably seen them less than once a year. Think I went over 2 years without seeing my sister at some point.

It's not that we don't like each other. We get on fine when we do see each other but we are just not the texting/calling to keep in touch type.
