Sir Bradley Wiggins and Team Sky "crossed an ethical line" by using drugs allowed under anti-doping rules to enhance performance instead of just for medical need, a report by MPs says.

Is there anyone clean in this sport? A Knight of the Realm

I'm of the opinion most people at the top of competitive sport are pushing the boundaries/outright cheating as much as possible.

If football ever did proper testing they'd open a massive can of worms in my opinion. I think that's why they don't and prefer to turn a blind eye.

I think it's a little harsh to blame him for this. No rules were broken, we don't know how much of it was his choice.

Take his badges off him and take the title off him as well.

I think he should just have to compete in the next tour de France on a uni cycle. If he can finish he gets to keep his medals.

As Wada concluded last November, there is no conclusive evidence that Sir Brad was using performance enhancing drugs.

The mysterious package could have contained what Team Sky claimed or it could not. That's the whole basis for the argument.

It's a very big bend of the rules and sadly it feels like other sports do the same thing. It's more about pushing the limit of the rule book and not playing fair.

Or make him do it on a heavy BMX with no gears, and he has to have a mate standing on the rear pegs.

I don't really consider it cheating if the rules allow medicines that may have some beneficial side effects to be taken by athletes.

If it was a completely banned drug or supplement then yes I agree that would be unfair but in this case it is not so clear cut as to whether there was any actual intent to cheat.

The sooner we have the "take any performance enhancing drug you like" version of a competition the better. I want the freakshow. :datass:

How is this a story, if they're allowed they're allowed.
