The first season of this was fairly groundbreaking, in the fact that it didn't pretend that teenagers were only moody, naive idiots who spent their lives pontificating about the mere existence of human life like every US teen-drama you care to mention.
Instead, it showed you exactly what life's like as 'modern British kid' what with the drugs, careless throw-away-she-takes-it-up-the-arse sex, raging parties where people want to stab you, self-harming and the fact that most parents are completely and utterly baffled by what's going because they're just as strawberry floating messed up as their sprogs.

Great stuff. Shame they then went and strawberry floated it all up from season two onwards by making everyone a dislikeable banana split, dragging out boring storylines and then completing wiping a stinking gooseberry fool smear of a cast over the originals so anything that was ever enjoyable about it disappeared and then replaced by something that makes you want to throw up.

I always found the main character of the first season to be a dislikeable banana split, which is why I found it completely unwatchable. I've never understood the popularity of Skins at all.

I just came on here to make a thread, just watching the first episode of four now. Its scary how much of skins is quite apparent in peoples lives including myself, more on watching from the sidelines, but even though I'm nearing 20, I've seen half of the gooseberry fool that goes on on skins, especially the drinking, sex, drug use. But in a worse way :fp:

There's this one moment in Skins that I still can't help but laugh at.. I think it was the last season, some kid was in the middle of an emotional crisis and couldn't decide whether to call some girl or not. He sat there looking forlorn at his phone, flicking through the address book and the only contacts he had in his phone were of other people in the show. :lol:

Twins are over-rated. The blonde is fitter.

I would do naughty things to those twins....

They should just keep the twins and Effy and bring Sid, Chris, Michelle, Anwar and maybe Tony back. Oh and also kill off Cook in the most horrible way possible.
