Based on what? In a world where the NSA and CIA get hacked I don't think you can say anywhere is actually safe from hackers. Places will get hacked, deal with it.

You don't 'get what you pay for', that's nonsense. Especially in a topic on the subject of Sky charging ridiculous amounts for Sports packages, its evidently clear that companies are willing to try to get away with charging exorbitant amounts of money for things you can get cheaper elsewhere if you shop around. Those companies are preying on people who are either too lazy to bother swapping stuff around or think that they must be 'getting what they pay for'.

Based on "I think". Maybe you should stop being so argumentative all the time and read the words written. Who is to say you're right all the strawberry floating time? Certainly not me.

Deal with it

I did read what you wrote, I presumed what you thought was based on some kind of logic and wondered what it was.

Like I said, when what should be the most secure networks in the world are clearly capable of being hacked, I don't think that you can make a statement about any private company being less resistant to hacking than any other with any kind of authority.

So I'm with Virgin and was under the impression I could just cancel every Sports Channel except the Premier League channel. Called them up to do this but they just switched the whole lot off.

Want to watch the match tonight so have got a Now TV day pass. Will be watching it through my One S and as it up scales to 4k I'm hoping the picture will be better than usual.

Yeah, the tiered model is only relevant to Sky subscribers. BT are stuck with Main Event and Extra, Virgin Media NowTV and TalkTalk have to still take the full Sports package.

As I'm sure you've noticed already, the NowTV picture quality is better than the SD sat/cable feed, but the motion is not.

Yes, picture quality was good. Didn't notice an issue with the motion either TBH.

Virgin have upgraded me to their new box. Will clear my old box this week and set-it up at the weekend. Bit pointless at the moment as I can get Youtube and Netflix directly through the TV.

Any idea when Virgin will get 4k Premier League?

When Sky and BT feel like it. Virgin Media customers still don't have Sky Atlantic.

I don't expect Virgin to ever get Sky Atlantic.

I switched to Sky in 2008 because I'd just got a HDTV and Virgin didn't have any HD content. Virgin had HD in 2012 when I switched back, not sure how long they'd had if for.

So based on that it could still be at least another 3/4 years.

I wouldn't count on Sky Atlantic coming to Virgin or BT anytime soon.

I cancelled Sky Sports a while ago.

Just went onto Sky Sports Premier League and have the Liverpool v Man U match.

Are they showing this match for free or have Sky strawberry floated up?

I’m only getting it in SD, but I’m happy to get free SD football if Sky have messed up.

It wasn’t on Mix, I had checked that before the game to see if it was on there.

I’m not mentioning anything to them! It’s odd though, I used to have the HD Sports pack, so they’ve got rid of that but left one channel on in SD.

I’m not complaining though.

They made a big strawberry float up wiht us before, we had all the channels as part of some sign up offer, once that ran out we cancelled everything but the basic package, but we kept receiving all the channels while only paying for the basic package. They didnt notice for about 6 months, it was great.

Happened to my family with Telewest and Sky Movies many moons ago. They forgot to turn it off for maybe a whole year.

Dudes,
I called Virgin to get them to give me the Sky Sports package, as I do every goddamn year for end-of-year tennis. They said they couldn't do it unless I replaced my box? Er. No. strawberry float off? What's up with that? I've watched Sky Sports on this (not very old) box every year I've had it.

Are they giving you the box for free or making you pay for it?
