Sky Sports, Facebook wrote:Time to stop thinking about Wiggins, Farah & Ennis and start thinking about Rooney, Hazard and Aguero. Have you picked your Fantasy XI yet?

Sky have since pulled the post and apologised amid a torrent of complaints and abuse from users.

They've proceeded to be on the back foot the entire evening https://www.facebook.com/SkySports/post ... 3392812572

More chance than Rooney though.

They must be feeling a bit sore that the BBC showed everyone how to do sports tv properly.

Sky's coverage is the best by a mile. You can't deny that.

Do you pay the full sky bill in your house out of interest?

Think its good value compared to 24 channels that the BBC put on?

All year round yes because of the sheer amount I watch the events Sky show. The coverage of the Olympics was very good I'm not disputing that.

Sky Sports' coverage of sport is extremely good (and at 42.50 a month it has to be), but it's not like the BBC and Channel 4 have the chance to compete. When they do have sport, such as Wimbledon, Masters golf, racing etc. they're equally as good.

OK fair enough I think the sports channels pricing are crazy expensive but each to their own.

I hate Sky's monopoly on sport etc. The best thing about Sky's sports coverage is Hayley McQueen.

Do you love their coverage, or just that there's a lot of it?

I think what irks many is the whole pricing model, which works on the basis that you have to pay for stuff you don't want to get stuff you do. How long this can continue as the internet continues to become more powerful is another matter. Sky Movies for example is looking incredibly outdated.

I still find it hard to believe there are people willing to pay for premium television. I would guess its a generational thing and will soon die out.

It's the sport. If you want Live sport - in particular premier league football - in HD, you've got to pay Sky for it. Until someone can find a way to eat away at that monopoly, the Sky platform will continue to be very successful.

I don't get this, Dual. What do you mean? How else would you get this stuff? A shitty stream somewhere?

My biggest problem with Sky's coverage of sport is that it really is like watching a televised version of a tabloid sports section at times. Though to be fair most sports coverage on any channel is also guilty of this to degree.
