Didn't you know you're not allowed to mention premier league footballers in the media from now on without referencing their shameful "off-pitch" lifestyles and poor/arrogant/not humble like the olympians attitude? Or at least not unil the season kicks off and all the shit-munching hypocrites forget anyway.

Oh I see, wow the general public is full of a right load of morons isn't it.

I'm getting Virgin Media installed on Saturday, just in time for the Premiership to begin

ESPN automatically included too 8-)

And I'm happy to pay for it all.

i didn't find the comment offensive, in regards to the whole sports coverage thing though i agree with Hank. Sky supplies a brilliant sports service which is much better than anything i have either seen on the bbc or itv, yes it costs but that's everyones own individual choice, unlike say the tv license which is forced upon everyone and is an old institution so the bbc has money coming in. Yes i know they don't have ads but they also don't have much anymore that i watch on the BBC. There are few shows but i would be willing to have ad breaks as i'm very much use to them. Sadly paying for the BBC isn't optional.

The comment was dismissive of their accomplishments and implied the Olympics was a sideshow and now the real stuff begins. Bit silly to say only the day after it ended, especially at a time when national pride is at an all time high. Can understand why people got annoyed.

Exactly. I can't believe it took until page 3 for someone to get that point across rather than talking about irrelevant Sky prices.

The comment was no way dismissive to the accomplishments otherwise it would have said something like that. This is more people beingall emotional and reading between the lines. Reading it myself it says the big evemt of th olympics have come and gone, now onto the next big event.

Nothing wrong with that in my opinion, it's the truth.

I'm pretty much feeling like this. After the past two weeks, we've seen how proper sports men and women should conduct themselves. Give it two weeks into a new footballing season I'm sure we'll all be reminded that footballers are complete dicks....

Oooooh, a very small minority out of how many thousands of athletes? Great argument, Spinny, I know, let's tar them all with the same brush.

No, footballers are still dicks.

And therein lies the point. Not all footballers are dicks either.

Sounds accurate for most Premier League footballers.

Yeah, I'm sure Sky *really* want people to stop thinking about Wiggins and thus Team Sky too. Yeah, makes perfect sense that after the oodles of cash they've sunk into British cycling. What's more likely is they were trying to be funny and failed.

This says more about people loving to be offended and complaining than it does about Sky.

They're telling us to stop thinking of these athletes one day after the surprisingly successful, surprisingly uplifting London Olympics ended. Imagine if Spurs won the league and a day later Sky were all 'forget that, international football now!'

There's no reading into something that isn't there, it's a stupid comment at a stupid time.

They would never say that, because Sky broadcast the Premier League. Image
