Interesting, I seem to have "Sky Family HD", which should be £38 after the introductory offer for new customers. I should probably call them up and ask why I need to pay £5+ a month more and is this some kind of customer loyalty reward.

Sky prices are baffling

I don't think I'd ever pay over £10 a month for TV, no matter how much content it gave me access to.

Don't you do that now for your TV license?

So from March 2015 the Family bundle will have gone from £33 a month to £38; Sky Sports from £24.50 to £27.50.

Just think of all the various subscriptions you could get (Netflix, Amazon Prime, NowTV, NFL Game Pass, WWE Network, BT Sport, a VPN...) or the luxurious holiday you could go on for the cost of Sky.

I currently have a half price tv deal with them, I'm paying around £50 a month for line rental, broadband and the Sky Sports bundle. I'll definitely be cancelling once the initial 12 months is up, there's no way I'm paying more than what I am now for what I get.

If I were to take Sky on for 12 months, would they be receptive if I called them up and said I wanted the sports package for 1 month only?

Yeah, sports is an add on service so you can add and remove it whenever. Chances are they would give you a month free as a "trial"

I thought there was that clause that stipulated you can upgrade whenever you want, but then can't downgrade again for 3 months?

Who ever actually pays those prices? Just threaten to cancel and they'll give you a discount.

You'd have to be a mentalist to pay those prices. I currently have a package that has everything (movies, sports, etc) for £33 p/m that also includes £100 credit on my account.

How can they justify having to pay extra for HD sports/movie channels in 2016? It's no longer a unique/premium feature like 10 years ago. Madness.

Sky is Blackberry in an Android world. It just doesn't realise it yet.

These guys just will not persist sending me letters in the mail! This is like the 20th letter now in the space of 9 months or whatever. It doesn't even make any sense - if I'm not coming back at 65% off, or a free LG TV, why would I suddenly then jump at 50%? The amount Sky must spend on advertising. The desperation is outrageous.

I've only just become aware of Kodi - what exactly is it?
Another thread on GRCade mentions getting dexter pro iptv for it as the best streaming option?

A work mate said he'd got an andriod tv box and could watch all the latest movies/sports without paying for sky.
A quick search on Amazon shows many of these boxes for sale - so it's legal? You have all the latest movies and sports? For free?

Can anyone point towards an idiot guide of what i'd need please - cheers

It's not legal for sure. However I'll PM you tonight with the details. I don't use or pay for DexterIPTV but I use three other addons that does the job splendidly.
