Summer’s officially here and if that wasn’t exciting enough, Sky have got not one, but two huge bits of news to tell you.

Calling all sports fans – get ready to say hello to our new Sky Sports Month Pass. Our new Sky Sports Pass gets you a whole month of the biggest live sport from all 7 Sky Sports channels. So now you can choose a day, a week or a whole month of live Sky Sports from NOW TV. No contract. No hidden charges. The Month Pass will arrive just in time for the new football season and you can grab yours for just £31.99 a month.

Next up, we’ve given our NOW TV Box a slick makeover. Our brand new box is just as small as ever, but it’s faster and smarter than before – plus, it’s a little sexier too. The latest box will also have a handy Ethernet port, giving you more ways to get online. You can still enjoy a world of entertainment on the box, like catch up TV, awesome apps and your favourite TV shows, movies and sport.

You don’t have to wait long to get your hands on our new NOW TV Box – it’s available in August for just £14.99.

The new box is simply a rebranded Roku 3, which retails for £100. The box also supports 1080p, though whether their streams will is another matter.

Considering the Sky Sports package through a dish is £25.50, with the cheapest package being £45.50, this is actually good value for money by Sky's usual standards.

With no Champs League and diminishing PL coverage?

The month pass is a good move, but it's still the wrong side of thirty wraps for my tastes. However, if I was gonna do it, this is how I would.

The amount of PL matches they are showing is going to increase isn't it?

£31 a month though, it's no wonder streaming sites and the likes of Unblock US are so popular.

£31 per month is around the same price they were charging for Sky Sports on iPad before they got rid of that. If they still had the CL rights I might have been tempted to get a monthly pass now and then to watch that.

Not next year though. They have less football next season and LA liga rights yet to be confirmed. If BT were smart, they'd pick those up.

As it turns out the box still doesn't support 1080p streams after all...

I know it's only £15, but come on. Sky are definitely hobbling the picture quality on this thing on purpose.

I hate this bollocks. There might be more choice now that BT is on the scene but the end result is the consumer getting shafted. No way can I afford both Sky Sports and BT Sport, looks like it'll be streaming sites and MOTD for me this season.

I have a smart tv that can handle Now TV and I've been using it to watch GoT and the last series of Falling Skies.
£6 a month for the tv pass (I also got a 3 month for £15 bundle) seems like pretty decent value for me and my sport is taken care of by the free bt sports I get.

What do you get from the tv pass.
