Another BTTF3 one from me

Watched this at the weekend and only now noticed that when marty and doc are talking to the driver of the train they will eventually steal, you can see the hill valley clock being delivered in the background.

This means marty and doc were present at its delivery, when it was first switched on and subsequently derstroyed. Its also poetic that they use the same train to return to the future (well, marty does) making it a time train in more ways than one.

How is that a small thing? It's pretty integral to the ending.

I never noticed it at first though. :(

Christ.

One thing I've never understood about that though, was it a coincidence the woman was there. Or did the people in the future work out who was the originator of the virus?

The latter. It means Willis' mission was a success. Maybe, it's been ages since I saw it.

Can't have been a success though. I thought the whole point of the film was you can't change the future.

Again going from memory here, but doesn't the future lady's appearance suggest Willis' mission was never actually to change the past, but was to lead them to the virus so the council could get a sample to reverse engineer it in the future and create a cure?

Really need to see this again. Yes, that's probably it.

I've always loved 12 Monkeys. It's one of very few time travel films I can think of that makes a bloody good fist of the time travel mechanics.

Someone else pointed this out for me. Adds an extra dimension to her claim that she's "in insurance".

Butch killing Vincent with Marsellus Wallace's gun, because Marsellus is out getting donuts. It's the reason why Vincent doesn't react when he hears the door to Butch's apartment opening. He assumes it's Marsellus. Why is Marsellus on the job in the first place? Because Jules has retired.

Also, alot of the characters in Tarantino's films inhabit the same universe.

The Vega brothers.
Nurse Bonnie
Jimmie and Larry Dimmick.

Me and my sister were both watching Pulp Fiction this one time and Marcellus said "I'll be damned" in a completely different intonation to how he did in every other copy I've seen. We both noticed this immediately.

Could it just be another cut where they decided to use a different take from the dialogue re-dubs?

in the last crusdae, when the tank crashes over the cliff, the hull is clearly a model tank, because the turret comes off and there is no turret ring, or hole leading down into the hull of the tank, theres just a wee nub thing that would hold the turret on.

still an awesome movie, but i just noticed it.

strawberry float you.

That happens in some movies. Die Hard with a Vengance is one. When McClane is walking along the street near the beginning with the sign, one guy notices him and shouts "what the hell is that?" but in another version I saw he says "what the strawberry float?" Odd.

Watched Indiana Jones - Last Crusade last night, noticed the grail.

When he pics it up it is glowing inside with the water. Takes it to his data its glowing and you get to actually see the light in there due to bad angles, then when the camera comes right round there is no glow at all as you look right down into the cup, camera goes back to the other camera and its glowing again.

Not only does it have a lit / not lit mess up but the inside of the cups are different colours. The glowy one is gold, the not glowy one a copper dim colour.

I never realised until recently that the idol in 'Raiders of the lost ark' is actually a woman giving birth:

I don't think you quite understand the purpose of this thread. It's about small, intentional background nods to those eagle-eyed enough to notice. Not tiny continuity issues.

Did you watch the first version on TV? As far as I'm aware they sometimes have different edits for TV so they can show it earlier. In Sex Lives of the Potato Men (remember that? ), they had a line changed in the TV ads so it said "shag" instead of "strawberry float". They also have a jokey edit on the DVD of Hot Fuzz where they replace "bastard" with "bar steward" etc.

If you re-watch Braveheart you will realise that Mel Gibson isn't actually Scottish, and that he is just putting on a Scottish accent.

And in the Directors Cut, he doesn't fight the English, just kills Jews.

You youngsters probably don't remember, but there was a time when it seemed as if every film broadcast on TV was edited. Who could forget ITV's legendary edit of Die Hard - 'YIPPE KI YAY KIMOO SARBAY!'? You name it, ITV would butcher it. They turned Robocop into a PG ffs. The BBC also used to do the same thing, I first saw Beverly Hills Cop edited for TV :fp: The proper version was a revelation.

Nowadays, I think it's only the US who edit films for TV.
