Every move should be a Final Smash. Game should be nothing but everyone hopping around after multiple balls.

I didn't say it did lmao.

6 years of development time would be ridiculous.

I just said that I'm wondering how long they have been developing it, given this smaller gap. Sakurai has gone on and on about how much hard work these games are, and he's helming it again for this one so I'm also factoring in he might be a bit burnt/wanting a bit of a break from something so intensive.

But as I suggested, being 50/50 on it, I don't think it's unlikely this will be a new Smash game.

Bombs -> same (they are just sheika slate bombs now)
Bow -> same
Boomerang -> Cryonis?
Spin Attack -> Revali's Gale (if touching the ground) into Sailcoth
Grab -> Magnesis? No hookshot but magnesis could work as a tether grab (everyone is magnetic now sure)
Final smash - same (but with added stasis effect for freezing the target in place)

Revali’s Gale for spin attack makes a lot of sense.

For the final smash, how about the Divine Beasts combining like they do against Ganondorf in BOTW?

Thanks GameXplain

I'm curious if it will be a proper updated Link or just a a re-skin. If so I hope Zelda gets that same treatment too. She deserves to be a good character in Smash already >,>

I would imagine that even if it's technically a new game that it will be built on the engine they used for Smash on the Wii U so that would lead to a shorter development time.

I just hope we get more of a single player component this time around. I really enjoyed Subspace Emissary in Brawl and an improved version of that would be great. Hell, I'd even settle for something more the like the Adventure mode in Melee. The lack of it was definitely the biggest weakness of the Wii U/3DS versions and I've played them far less than their predecessors, even though the fighting itself is possibly the best in the series.

If they do go down the deluxe route and give us all the characters and stages from 3DS/Wii U versions, plus some extra characters/stages I'd be perfectly content, so long as we get a better single player mode.

I have never understood why people love Smash Bros so much, I must have only played the last one on the Wii U for around five hours and got board with it

Get either of the first two, four controllers, three friends and a bit of time to actually play the game. You'll get it then.

I'm just terrible at Smash Bros in general so I most likely won't be picking it up. I did enjoy Brawl though, was half decent with Snake so I guess if Snake makes a comeback (hugely unlikely though) then I might consider it a little more. Never put the time into Smash Bros for Wii U but it didn't grab me the same.

Really? I mean if you don't like it, fair enough, but the appeal is fairly easy to understand. It's so broad, pulling from so many different Nintendo series. There is so much content and variety. It's easy to play, fairly intuitive, but there's a ton of depth for people who want more from the gameplay. The multiplayer. You'll have at least a handful of favourite characters from the cast. Even though I have mixed feelings for the latest games, I still geeked out a little bit at all the new details when the 3DS game was released.

I actually just so happened to watch a GameXplain discussion video where they literally said all of this almost word for word and then saw this on here. Just a coincidence I'm sure lol.

Maybe the posts were maybe before the gamexplain video was on youtube?

Or they're dirty content stealers.

I mean, I haven’t seen the video or ever watch GameXplain stuff but it’s a fairly obvious idea.
