With a bit of luck there'll be a method to upload ROMs to it within a week or two.
How many extra could you put on the NES mini?

Only one that's missing that I'd love to have seen is Batman Returns.

Gonna have to actually buy a cartridge of it with real cash monies.

Wouldn't it be great if they only distributed through bricks and mortar shops only?

That true retro experience of queuing up at midnight to get your hands on a new console.

I'd get 5 mates to queue up along with me.

I don't understand why there's no Pilotwings on SNES Mini and 2 very average Kirby games...Simply makes no sense, as does the omission of The Legend of the Mystical Ninja, which is probably my favourite 3rd party game ever, and is on the Japanese Mini :-(

Americans getting no luck whatsoever pre-ordering this thing...

Engadget wrote:If you're one of the lucky folks that got a preorder in at Walmart for a Super Nintendo Classic Edition unit last week, you might want to sit down. Walmart is canceling all of the preorders, claiming that it was "mistakenly made available last Friday evening ahead of the official release date." The retailer has started notifying customers today.

Walmart's Deserie Dulaney's email states that while the company must "regrettably" cancel the orders, it has not charged anyone's credit cards, as is standard procedure. Anyone who used PayPal or a Gift card will get refunds. "I do hope you'll give us another chance to earn back your business," said Dulaney in the email.

This doesn't mean that no one will get a SNES Classic Edition, however. The official launch date is September 29th; you'll be able to get back in line to order the item then for $80. The worry, of course, is that the new Nintendo mini-console will suffer the same shortages as last holiday's Nintendo Entertainment System Classic and has since been discontinued.

I saw someone post an e-mail or webchat from Walmart on Neogaf that stated Nintendo of America had forced them to cancel the pre-orders they accepted.

I wonder why Nintendo America is being so funny about pre-orders compared to Europe and even Japan.

For the price of this - I can't believe anyone can be disappointed at the roster of games we're getting.
It's an incredible bargain.

What's the chances of this actually making it to stores? Did the NES mini actually ever become available in stores. I seem to remember them always being out of stock and only taking pre orders.

Always post Laga.

If they did do an N64 Mini, the controller would be far larger than the console. It'd be very odd.

I can just see Nintendo disappointing everyone with it, though.

KK wrote:I don't think there will be as many, & certainly not the 21 titles included in the SNES Mini. I think you've got 7 guarantees at least. I can't see them wanting more than 3 or 4 Mario titles on there though.

Headliners

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Pilotwings 64
Wave Race 64
1080° Snowboarding
Star Fox 64

Maybes

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
F-Zero X
Excitebike 64
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
International Superstar Soccer
Mario Golf
Mario Tennis
Mario Party
Paper Mario
Pokémon Stadium
Ridge Racer 64
Super Smash Bros
Yoshi's Story

Hell Freezing over

Perfect Dark
WWF No Mercy
Goldeneye

Personally I would love WWF No Mercy, but the rights and licensing would be a logistical minefield.

Both Zeldas have been re released on 3DS, so I can see them omitting that. Wouldn't surprise me if they put some filler on it. I'm thinking Tetrisphere, Pokemon Puzzle League, Cruisin USA etc.

I'd much rather have Pokemon Snap.

That I could see them doing as I can't see it working in any better way as a standalone release. Likewise Mario Parties 2 & 3.

A real system seller would be Rocket: Robot on Wheels. Include that and it's a winner.
