UN Squadron might be worth a look. A bit different to the others.

Added that to my list, thanks Ste :D

I added those as well as the DKCs, and the Super Star Wars and Indiana Jones for film based platform adventures (no idea if they're any good though, Aladdin apparently is, should probably add that)

My installed list so far..

Sonic The Hedgehog needs removing from the console though, utter gash.

Great list, KjGarly, I've pinched a few of them for my own list!

So when they release the final version of this hacking software, would we all have to re-apply all of this or is the RC5 version stable enough to not even bother with the final release?

Zombies Ate My Neighbours is great.

I've been playing:

Mainly Super Mario Kart with the wife who is so bad it's painful. To be fair she's never really played games before. She did manage to get a 2nd and 3rd on Ghost Valley and Bowser Castle Mushroom Cup 50cc. When I told her she only had to finish above Princess to get on the Podium the pressure got to her. This for me is still the best version of game. It's the "hop" rather than the "drift" technique of the later games that makes the real difference. Playing a bit of Mario Kart on the 2DS (which looks great) but the drifting round the corners is just so boring (and easy). The original "hop" technique makes every corner an enjoyable challenge. Super Circuit was good for this reason too.

Street Fighter - When I used to play this at the time I couldn't never imagine it ageing. It has. I actually found it quite tough.

Super Punch Out - I'd only ever played it on the NES but liked it then and like this too. Simple but enjoyable.

Contra - Still superb. Just instant fun and adrenaline. Managed to get up to the third level on my 1st go. I don't think I could ever complete it though. I used to play it with an Action Replay giving infinite lives and there are bits later on in the game that I would die so much on.

Snes doom is garbage but that's a good list. If you want more suggestions:
Rock n Roll Racing
Flashback
Sunset Riders
Uniracers
The "Strike" games
NBA Jam
Lost Vikings
Actraiser

I am high-fiving those suggestions of Zombies Ate My Neighbors and NBA Jam T.E. Both are terrific games!

NBA Jam T.E.

An added bonus is that my initials are in the game title which always amused me as a kid.

This is now like a quiz, Ironhide. Two initials... NJ? BA? TE?

EDIT: Heck, I assumed two initials. Maybe it’s actually NJT!

I always through Zombies Ate My Neighbours was perfect for an XBLA release with online co-op years ago when it seemed every old game was getting a rerelease on there but it never happened :(

That would have been cool. The game did get a release on the Wii Virtual Console, though :toot: .

I finally got around to picking this up yesterday. Had a quick go last night (just to check that it worked, of course :shifty: ) and had about 15 mins each on F-Zero, Mario Kart and Contra. Definitely had the most fun with Contra, even though it's a toughie. Can't wait to get stuck into some of the meatier games, even if it'll be a while before I do. May dip in and out of the more pick up and play titles when I get a chance. Nice little console though, controller feels nice although the concave buttons of the US version might've been better (or just flat buttons like the NES). Not overly keen on convex buttons.

Super metroid- so I'm right at the start, finished prologue and got to first actual level. Jumped down a pit and can't find anywhere to go, there is a room with floor lock that won't open. Any ideas?
