Played a campaign mission (3) today with a buddy - really good fun and both got to contribute easily. A good map helped.

We're thinking of turning up the difficulty next time - the enemies can fall apart under multi-directional snipers, niether of whom they know where they are,.

I'm not sure it'd be as much fun replaying when you both know maps/tricks - but as a campaign it was great fun!

I enjoyed SE:2 and SE:3.

I imagine I'll pick this up soon.

I only played about 2-3 hours of Sniper Elite 3 after getting the complete edition sometime last year on the cheap from PSN. I really loved 2 but that was one of the first games I bought when I got myself a gaming laptop 5 years ago. Also enjoyed the Zombie Army games.

Does this offer much variety besides what I've already seen in first 3 or 4 (last one I did was the night mission at the docks) chapters? It's enjoyable enough but getting a bit bored now and see myself giving it up unless it introduces some new mechanics.

It's not a bad game; everything works, controls feel solid, and it looks mostly decent. I just got bored of doing pretty much the same thing for the first 3 or 4 stages. Oh well. On to the next game!

There might be Mech battles - But I got to level 5ish with co-op buddy and like you we thought we'd seen all it's tricks.

I've not got into 4 yet but I started and completed 3 earlier this year and loved it. The action didn't change that much through each of the levels, but I really enjoyed the skulking about and lining up shots aspects. Terrific fun and one of my favourite games of this year (even though I know it released a few years ago).

I am still very tempted to grab this (when the price drops, obviously) but there's another game out there that already satisfies my snipey/gunny urges - MGS5.

If I want a game where I can sneak into a base and dispatch goons - MGS5
If I want a game where I can snipe from afar - MGS5
If I want a game where I can run and gun and call in air strikes and drive tanks - MGS5

I finished this game last night (it's on Game Pass).

I have never played a Sniper Elite game before and so was a little confused when I started playing, I was playing it more as a standard FPS rather than the stealth game that it is. Once I got into it though, I loved it. Hiding in a bush and shooting Nazis in the testicles, what more could you want?

I am not sure I would want to pay anywhere near full price for it, but as part of Game Pass it is definitely worth checking out if you want a slower paced shooting game.

The gameplay does have a methodical, crunchy, visceral feel to it; it's very well done. I thought SE III was excellent and this fourth one is in my backlog. Glad you enjoyed it, Moggy!

Yeah I quickly realised that running in trying to kill Nazis with a rifle at close range was a quick way to die. :lol:

It is so satisfying when you get a perfect head shot from 200 metres away. :datass:
