It's getting heavier! What if this talk about global warming is not just a science fiction concept?

Yeah it's sunny here in Belfast but still strawberry floating cold.

To top it off I have caught a cold, hate the watery eyes and constant sniffling.

Snow has kicked off here too. Sunny for periods the last few days, rather amazing for April.

Amazingly we still have some snow lying about on the hills here in NI. It's sure taking its time to melt off.

I've been loving the sunny weather over the last two days. Still a bit chilly but I have been able to sit out in the garden and read for the first time this year.

So rather than just complaining about it.

What do you guys think the Government should do? This year they've been much more organised than last, we've had salt on the roads everytime it's been freezing, and we've had snowplows come when needed. Most people have only had to have snow days for one day. Do we need to do more, do we need to be more prepared for extreme weather like this as it becomes 'more regular.' Or do we carry on what we're doing?
I think the worst thing about the snow this time is the fall in spring, it's really screwed up the lambing and dafodil season, Wales is strawberry floated.

Don't know about other places but I would be hesitant to invest public money in more stuff here. Two bad years in a row is not sufficient reason to start planning long term; we could end up wasting a much of money and then start having very dry winters again.

I think the government should only allow snow in November and December because it makes everything more Christmassy - but not any longer. I don't understand this stupid policy of allowing snow to continue all the way until Spring.

Bloody coalition can't do anything right. Not enough that they failed on the economy they have to screw up the seasons as well.

Been quite nice last few days up here in Newcastle, to the point I was outside on Wednesday at 6pm in a T-shirt washing the car.

As Curls said quite impressed with how well the councils/government has been organised for the snow, gritters everywhere when it was going to be icy/snow.

Not like November last year when we got the snow and they didn't even grit the A1, a 10-minute journey took 4 and a half hours because the whole A1 was a Snow-laden ice-rink and there wasn't a gritter in sight.
