Yeah, it assumes no sale prices and no bundling. Mine says £600 but the true total is about £90.

Actual money spent is much lower, probably around £100-150 less. Pretty much all of my games have been bought when cheap, I think the only one I've bought full price was Audiosurf.

It doesn't assume it, so much as it has no way to get that information. It's basically just using your id page on Steam to see which games you have and adding up the current totals that it can get from the game's steam store page.

I just entered my account name and it worked.

I think it depends on if you've created a steam community page for yourself. You get assigned a number, but you can change it to something more easily memorable.
