I watched Nintendo's live thingie and thought it was kinda rubbish to be honest. I dont know if its an age thing or what because I was a massive Nintendo fan boy growing up, I'm bored with Mario now. I still gonna get a Wii U second hand for the Zeldas.

Game of the show for me was obviously The Masterchief Collection, all 4 games and all the MP coming back (100 maps or so) is ridiculous value. This Generations Orange Box.

I think Sony and MS shows where neck and neck but as eurogamer article says, the fact they where even close is a tiny victory for MS after its horrific E3 briefing last year.

Destiny, Call of Duty, Battlefield, far Cry 4 and Evolve are out towards the end of the year. I think it's mostly going to be hardcore Halo fans that will be getting excited over some older games repackaged.

I'm curious about how many people who voted for Nintendo only own a Wii U and a 3DS? I can understand people voting for Nintendo if they don't like playing online games and don't enjoy FPS or Racing games but with the lack of 3rd party titles on Wii U it's surprising to see Nintendo being voted best show of E3. I might pick up a Wii U again (i sold my first one) at the end of 2015 though.

I voted Nintendo and have a Wii U/3DS, PS3/PS4/PSVITA and an Xbox 360. So basically everything current besides an Xbox One.

It's true, I don't really enjoy FPS or Racing games particularly which is basically all that seem to be appearing on the non-Nintendo platforms with the exception of some great looking indie titles. The gaming landscape there looks incredibly dull to me with the same old stuff year after year... Nintendo could be accused of doing the exact same thing with their franchises but I think that they take a far more careful approach and try to make each instalment as new and interesting as it can while still being familiar. The quality is almost always excellent though there are always exceptions (e.g. Yoshi's New Island).

A huge part of it is personal preference too as I enjoy Nintendo games far more than the output of EA, Ubi, T2 or any other major publisher. Photek is bored of Mario yet excited for a rerelease of 4 Halo games from the last 12 years odd. That's not wrong, it's just that presumably he enjoys Halo more than Mario whereas I'm the exact opposite.

Overall, I think this E3 has given people reasons as to why they should buy a Wii U (helped with the momentum from SM3DW and especially MK8) but it didn't really show people why they should buy a PS4 or Xbox One. I say 'people', of course that's just my own point of view again and maybe others saw great reasons to buy them. And the Wii U has taken 18 months to gain any real momentum so the same can probably be expected of the other two consoles, I've no doubt next year's E3 will be much more exciting for them.

FWIW, I bought a PS4 as I took a bunch of stuff to CEX and had a decent amount of credit and I really wanted to play Transistor.

I enjoyed the announcements made by Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. The MS conference absolutely stormed the first thirty minutes, with loads of cool titles presented in breathless fashion. I didn't see the Sony conference live and caught up with the stories the next morning; this was fun and I love the sound of some of the titles but it wasn't as exciting as watching a live event. I really liked the innovative style of Nintendo's presentations and there were many games that I'm looking forwad to seeing more of.

For me, Microsoft and Nintendo just edged it in terms of excitement and upcoming titles - it may have been different if I'd seen the Sony conference live rather than as separate vids. I'm surprised at the range of cool games on the Xbox and I feel that they've really stepped back into the ring. Nintendo threw some good punches and, for me, stood out with their approach. Sony remains the leader in terms of being the big player, but things have gotten a lot closer.

I'd say Nintendo won it with Sony second and Microsoft third.

Leaving aside the ridiculousness of the first paragraph. Game of the show was the masterchief collection? Behave yourself. As for MS being close. As far as I'm concerned - with the disastrous start and the subsequent price drops, u turns and dropping of kinect - i really thought Microsoft had to be amazing at this E3 to make up ground on Sony. They haven't been. Good yes but not quite as good as Sony were.

They should get an award or something.

The Orange Box had 3 different styles of game in it (HL/TF/Portal) rather than 4 instalments of a single franchise (although they were all admittedly all FPSs of sorts).

At best, The Master Chief Collection is this generation's Sonic Mega Collection.

It's not that ridiculous, you see his point, even if you think it's deluded. Orange box clearly had more variety and originality though

More than half of the titles in the Orange Box were brand new, and all of those new titles were incredible.

The Master Chief Collection is closer to the God of War Complete Collection.

It's great value for money, totally. But like others have already said, no where near the variety and quality (imo) of The Orange Box.

Nintendo for me as the games were just more interesting and i think over the years i have now gotten so bored with the next generic shooter and the next generic racer that i just turn off now when the next halo, battlefield etc is announced. I do like the look of Destiny though as the concept seems different.

This is pretty much me, although MS saved me the trouble by announcing Horizon 2 on 360, so i'll just get that instead.

Its built by a different team on a completely different engine (the original Horizon engine). Granted its Sumo Digital so its in safe hands, but I wouldn't expect its really going to be the same game.

I know, and...

It'll still be bombing around southern Europe in nice cars, that I can use my wheel and pedals for on a console I already own. Sure it won't have all the bells and whistles of the xbone version, but I'm not sure the difference will be worth the hundreds of pounds in price difference.

To be fair, Sony and Microsoft do have games coming beyond the standard blockbuster shooter like Ori, Below, Project Spark, Oddworld. Grave, Inside, etc

I own a Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One and I voted for Nintendo because they showed off more games that I want to play than the other two as well as having the best presented conference.
