Not to take anything away from you lovely people but I'm surprised how much reading this thread upsets me. My wife and I are just finishing our final, sixth month of clomid (a drug to help with ovulation) and it hasn't been successful so far.

I forget what the next treatment is, not because I don't care but because I think I'm trying to stay nonchalant and "cool" about the whole process, but I believe we'll be given another three months of medication before being granted one month of IVF.

It's just hard because my wife is taking it all so badly. I've never lost hope, even in the face of all the evidence to the contrary but I'm starting to question if I'm just lying to myself and not facing up to reality.

At least we have two wonderful cats to huggle.

That sucks dude really hope it works out! What are the odds of IVF stuff I know a few people that it has worked for but never really looked into it all.

I have only just read your post Tragic. I really feel for you, we went through a bad time during my wife’s first pregnancy and we had the feelings of despair afterwards and thoughts that it was never going to happen for us.

We never had IVF or any fertility treatment and so I have no advice on it, but I really hope it works out for you and that you manage to have a child soon.

My lad is 22 months old now and his vocabulary is coming on really strongly. He has lots of words now and has started putting them together. My mum had him for a few hours on Monday and when I picked him up he started waving at her and saying “bye bye Nana!”.

Last night he had a heavy book in his hand and dropped it, narrowly missing his foot. He looked shocked and then said “Oh my goodness!”. Neither myself or the wife are convinced he actually said that, but whatever he said sounded just like it.

The downside to all of this is that I have to give up swearing. I love swearing.

Ella has got into the secondary school that she wanted to get into. Overjoyed for her is an understatement. Her class in primary school haven't been the nicest bunch towards her for no apparent reason (apart from her being a bit naive at times) so she's looking forward to a fresh start. It's weird to think she's going to be 11, starting secondary/high school and becoming a teen. I remember her first day at nursery, it was like it was yesterday.

Never give up hope, my wife was told she would never have a baby, for various reasons the odds were totally against it ever happening. We decided to try anyway, even if just to say we did try, within a few months she was pregnant and Zelda came out happy and healthy. It wasa tough pregnancy with a couple of touch and go moments and it took a toll on my wife but it all worked out in the end, hang in there dude.

My daughter is starting to stay awake for longer now, up to 3 hours at a time before a sleep, which would be great if she wasn't crying much of her waking time. Settling her down only for her to start crying for no reason is starting to get frustrating given I've already changed her nappy and fed her.

We were lucky that my son didn’t cry much at night, but he would spend a lot of the day crying for no reason. He still does sometimes.

There’s not much you can do really once you have checked the nappy and fed them. Try putting her down for a nap or if that fails then the only other thing is to take them out for a walk/drive and hope that calms them down.

I've heard the design of the bottle you use can cause kids to be more gassy and as a result cry more.

My wife and I use these...

http://www.playtexbaby.ca/products/play ... ins-liners

and always found them to be very good as the liner just collapses in on itself as the milk comes out so you don't get air passing through the milk which can cause gas...

It could also be the formula you are using, we used Cow and Gate to start with and and had loads of issues with very little sleep and lots of crying and stuff, swapped to SMA and all was right with the world.

Congrats mate.

She's 6 weeks today (although she wasn't supposed to be here until 28th March). Since I posted that she's actually been better aside from one screamfest yesterday.

Thats all it is, youve just got to grin and bear it. The first 10 or so weeks seemed to be just one massive struggle, lurching from a screaming child for no reason, to having to change milk, to immunisation fever, to why wont you poo!!

It gets easier mate, I think we all can say that. My lad will play on his own for a good hour now, which at one point I never ever thought would happen and it would just be me and his mom rocking him to calm him down.

Saying that, he DOES NOT like getting dressed after a bath    He has an angry cry now and crawls into his ball pit so we have to go and get him. :x

Can't believe it'll soon be three years since I started this thread.

It was my boy's second birthday last week, and his party yesterday. He's such an awesome little guy. Best thing we've ever done - even if I do look so haggard now it's unreal (even compared to the 'day of his birth' shot that we took two years ago.) :slol:

My daughter is 16 today, it's pretty darn awesome to have a 16 year old you can watch films with them etc she's awesome and I'm so darn proud she has turned out well, studies hard, volunteers in a charity shop and is just generally cool
