Question for people who don't know about birth control parents of GRCade

A acquaintance on Facebook has just posted about having her daughter's ears pierced....

She's....6 months-ish. ("So Brave. She didn't cry!")

That's not normal...right?

Edit - The daughter is 6 months to be clear :P

Worryingly for many yes, although personally it should be illegal.

"That's child abuse" was my first thought.

Not even a little bit.

Ive talked about it with the wife and were going to wait until she starts asking and take it from there. Were not gonna set an age on when she can do it as we want to wait and see how we both feel about letting her do it when she brings it up. Right now I think she will be a teenager before Id feel Ok with her getting them pierced.

It's disgusting in my opinion. When the kids old enough to understand it and want it done then fair enough, otherwise it should be illegal.

I'm so against baby ear piercing. It's horrible :(

Just like religion - it shouldn't be forced on a child until they're old enough to make their own decision.

See if you took babies in for anything else, a nose ring for cultural/religious reasons, you'd have child protection at your door in a heartbeat. But two piercings at the same time? Aye, fine.

i'm a bit shocked by the piercing thing at such a young age and it takes a lot to shock me but at 6 months old and having that done is pretty terrible.

Had a scare last night.

Missus is currently 13 weeks along with the next one.
She's yelled down that she's bleeding, so I go into a really odd calm panic. There's blood everywhere, it was bad.

It's suddenly dawned on me that no-ones told us what to do in this situation.

We got seen in the hospital really quick though which was good, and we haven't lost it (Womb was closed tight).
But they want her in for a scan to make sure the lil' Kiwi is ok, but they haven't ruled out an eventual miscarriage so the missus is beside herself with worry and I'm trying to be as calm and reassuring as I can.

But strawberry float, fairly sudden shock and all that. I'll let you guys know how we get on.

We went through something like that, it was utterly terrifying to see all that blood. Thankfully for us everything turned out just fine so try not to worry too much. These things do happen and everything can be fine after it. The worst part was the ambulance ride to the hospital, not knowing what was gonna happen but once we got there and she was seen to and noone was worrying or running around in a panicked state we were put at ease that we were probably gonna be fine. Hope it all goes well for you guys from now on.

Cheers guys, it's tough at the moment.

She's still bleeding, but the Gyno Doctor told us we shouldn't really come back unless she's filling/replacing a sanitary towel every hour.

I'm trying to put on a brave and optimistic face for her, but I can't help but feel the worst is going to happen.
We only had our first scan last week :(

Just driven down to Guildford to drop Finn with my mum so he's out the way in case we need to leg it to the hospital. Got to get caffeinated for the drive back to reading now. Only had 3 hours sleep :/

Wish me luck guys
