I didnt find it too bad, I enjoy cooking anyway so chopping sup some veg and chucking it in the steamer was no great hassle. The hardest part was pureeing it enough so that there was no lumps and it was super smooth. I made enough for the week anyway so taking an hour on a Sunday evening to make baby food is no great chore I dont think. She might hate it though so it could all be wasted effort yet!

I haven't worried about it being too smooth, she seems to handle them quite well which is good.

I'm avoiding doing the same things too much with her to prevent boredom so end up doing loads of different things, this week was baked bean thing with spaghetti in it, broccoli, Sweet Potato, Carrots, Cauliflower and Butternut Squash as well as chicken and some boiled eggs

Means I now have tonnes of little bags of each thing to mix and match over the next week or two to keep her entertained and cover off the various vitamins, protein and carbs she needs.

We are dropping formula this week in favour of "normal" milk so need to make sure I have all the bases covered.

Oh I wasnt worried about the texture being too smooth, the other half was, shes a worrier and probably had images of Zelda choking on a tiny piece of carrot.

hahah I know that feeling, the wife is the same, although got over it when I said if she wants it super super smooth she knows where the food processor is, suddenly the lumps aren't such an issue. The only think that Amelia has had issues with was the spaghetti in the beaked bean thing, the bits where anout a cm long and although 90% of the time she smushed them up the odd one got forgotten so she had a bit of a cough but otherwise all was good.

An annoying side effect however is that we attempted to use an ella's kitchen pouch we got free and Amelia just spat it out as it was super smooth so now we dont have the luxury of using them as an emergancy backup ...

My lad seems to like pretty much everything we have tried him with so far. The only exceptions have been a jar of Heinz “pasta, ham and tomato” which he really didn’t like. It was a freebie though so I didn’t care he hated it. He seems to love vegetables which is great as it means I can pass him all of the vile broccoli from my plate… ;)

Archie has taken to changing the inputs on the TV, and keeps putting it on the analogue/static input, and then staring at it.

It's all a little bit poltergeist.

You should never buy a house that was built on top of an old Indian burial ground.

He'll put in the tape from The Ring next.

In all seriousness I think white noise is supposed to be soothing for babies, so maybe he likes the sound or something?

We heard that and so my wife used to leave her phone playing white noise from Youtube. I don’t think the sprog took much notice of it but maybe we need to go full on Poltergeist if we want it to steal his soulsooth him?

27 weeks gone, nursery being constructed over the next few weeks, furniture arriving saturday, and he now kicks on a regular basis. Hopefully he becomes a footballer :shifty:

Its getting exciting now. I cant wait.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Nailed it. I used to have a white noise app that had an array of different sounds on. It was the best way to get him to sleep in the very early days. Hadn't occurred to me that he'd still like it, but it's really obvious :slol:

I'm only 26 and I remember TV static.

There is nobody younger than me so therefore those people are just stupid.
