Had to take oliver for his 13 month jabs the other day, had to go in on my own, cus y'know she couldnt come in. Having to pin down your own child is gooseberry fool.

Seems to have made a quality recovery, only had a fever 1 night, he's made of strong stuff :wub:

My wife flat out refused to take Zelda for her jabs after the first one, I had to take days off work to make the appointments. It wasnt great but we were able to time the appointments to be just before nap time so when she came out its was bottle and sleep so it wasnt too bad, didnt have to listen to her bawl for long. The stink eye she gave me for a week or so after each one was the worst part.

Moo didn't seem to give a damn about hers. She cried right after a little but mostly she was fine within a few minutes.

Same here, although when I started doing them all our kids seemed much better with it - possibly one of those scenarios where the kid is picking up on a parents anxiety/reaction and building from there.

It's not fun doing it, I can't remember which set of jabs it was but at one point I remember going in with our eldest and there were two nurses and they each had two needles - BAM 2 shots in each thigh within seconds! :cry:

The worst thing I think was the heel prick test when they are only a day or so old. I remember the midwife coming round to do that and watching her prick and then squeeze our eldest foot to get the blood out our newborn baby and thinking "what are you doing to my perfectly formed brand new creation you evil person!?"

Yeah Id say that definitely plays a part, she wouldnt be the calmest person anyway and shes a bit of an over reacter when it comes to her precious baby. My cool as a cucumber, couldnt give a gooseberry fool attitude comes in handy when that happens.

It is one of the worst things I have ever had to do. He was so happy in the waiting room, laughing at a lady in there and smiling away at the nurse when we went into the room. And then I had to hold him when they jabbed him. He looked so betrayed. :cry:

He got over it though, they are tough little things. And there is no way I am doing the next one, my wife is taking him to that.

My lads been sick this afternoon and has just vomited again. Poor thing. :cry:

Im dreading that. I walk around with dettol wipes permanently attached to my hands. He gave me a bug back in jan im sure of it. 12 hours of non stop puke fml.

Ive been told he might get ill after these jabs. Its the MMR that does it. So far so good. He's got a cake smash next week.

My wife had the sickness bug on Sunday afternoon/night. So far I have escaped it, but I am thinking I will probably get in the next day or two.

I did laugh at my boy yesterday, we obviously put Netflix on way too often as when I switched the telly on for him to watch Ben and Holly, he raised up his arms when Netflix was loading and then dropped his arms and loudly said “DUD DUMMM!!!” when the Netflix noise came on. Whenever I now say "what does Netflix say?" he makes that noise. :lol:

I think that's meningitis. I took my youngest daughter to the clinic for that. We both walked in and I sat on a chair. I heard one of the nurses mutter to the other, "it looks like a pinner downer". At that point I realised Ada was hiding under the chair. Oh God, the screams.

One of the nurses told me she gets recognised by kids in the street and they shout "there she is!" and point accusingly.

Got shat on last night. Horrendous.

She's back up to birth weight now, so that's a massive relief for both of us. Still a little jaundice, but it seems to be shifting! Had to have a load of blood tests the other day which was grim for her.

Nights are a doddle for me because I just kip through them. I get up about 5 and leave Jen to sleep till 10. Dead easy.
I'm dreading taking Lyra for her injections.

Jaundice shifts pretty fast, Ella had it terrible as a new born, I was told to keep her somewhere light by the midwives and it didn't take long to go after that.

Moo is 2 today! It's nuts time has gone way strawberry floating fast.

Off to legoland as she loves the place and we did Chessington more recently.

My little guy is now crawling around, and trying to stand up by grabbing at stuff and lifting himself up. You can't take your eyes off him for a second.

I was thinking of getting a playpen for him but they seem so small. Did anyone use something like that? How fast do they outgrow them/figure out how to get out? We want one for when we are doing housework or whatever and can't be right next to him.

We considered it but I didn't like the idea of put moo in such a small space. In the end we got a stair gate and put it across the living room door way making the living room and conservatory a big play pen.

I'd like to do something like that, but due to the shape of our place, we would need a long fence as there's no real doorway to the living room. I'd be worried it would tip over him if he tried to climb it.

When me or my wife can't watch him we have to put him in a jumperoo and he gets bored of that within a few minutes so we end up playing kids songs for him or paw patrol on netflix. Not an ideal situation

Hmm yeah that does make it harder.

You may be able to get room divider things that have wider feet to prevent falls.

You will probably have to get a tad inventive mind to find something that can fill the gap.

Kids have no filter and it can be hilarious, Ive taken to belting out the odd bar of a song as we watch movies at home, Zelda has taken to sayng "Stop it Daddy" every time I do. She is a brutal critic.
