I remember we bumped Finn up to the next portion size of milk to when he had a similar sounding scenario.

Little fella was just a bit more hungry than normal. Sorted him out and did him no harm.

Hes drinking more now no doubt and seems more hungry. We're gonna givr him his bath about 8ish i reckon instead of 7. And let hin sit in his rocker for a little longer. She is trying to get him into a routine but i keep telling her its too early. The only thing we can really do is feed him in the dark at night time to try and teach him the difference between day and night.

Thing is during the night feeds he wakes, drinks, burps and goes to sleeo which is why this is so strange. It could also be this gooseberry fool heat making him grumpy too

Do a routine but a routine of actions not at a time.

Right now it is too early to be doing bedtime is X and it will only cause you all to loose sleep.

A routine of actions however is good like when getting tired do a bath, bottle and story sort of thing but don't be regid on times otherwise you will be getting up very early and have hell with he getting to sleep.

Let him dictate it, if it is the right time for him he will sleep well and so will you, if you try and push a certain schedule you are going to have little sleep and any pattern you make now will cause hell for a long time.

My advise is do your bedtime routine as late as possible it will get you and him the best type of sleep you can, then when he is sleep the same amounts each night for 7 consecutive days move the bedtime 30 minutes earlier and repeat. The idea is you will get a regular sleep block and the gradually grow it over time until bedtime is where you want it.

Setting a bed time and wanting it to grow naturally may work but it will take longer and you will be getting up very early alot.

Makes sense mate yeah, keep doing the same things but change the times slowly. Think we've been guilty of being over tired, and just want some sleep, he can probably sense that and is like strawberry float you :slol:

Hahaha I know that feeling.

We originally went for "we want bedtime to be 7pm" ended up she would sleep but wake at 2am so we got very little sleep, we moved it to 11 which meant staying up somehow the same amount of sleep felt better. We were quickly able to extend it out and at 6 months we were on 8 until 6 which is where we kept it as with work and stuff that's workable.

  I know i shouldn't wish away the first few months, but I cant wait until he starts developing his own personality and being able to play properly. I feel like I've got no idea how to play with my child atm as he sits there a laughs at a circle for 10 minutes

I was the same, she was really boring for a while then when she started reacting etc she was interesting.

It's mean but small babies are really really dull, I found it really hard to bond and "be a dad," as she was effectively a lump that poos.

Crazy to feel she is 1 at the end of the month!

I took my lad for his 1 year immunisations yesterday. It was awful, he was so happy in the waiting room and when we went in to see the nurses and then floods of tears and crying when they jabbed him four times in the legs.

He perked up after that and seemed fine 10 minutes later, but later that night he became really lethargic, almost like he was doped up. Crying at almost anything as well. He also seems to have a painful leg, I guess from where the needles actually went in.

Poor little sod. I know he has to have his shots but I feel terrible for being the one that actually took him in. It’s enough to turn you into Jenny McCarthy (although my tits are nowhere near as fabulous).

I've come home from work to spend the day with him rather than putting him in nursery. Poor thing is wiped out. Better than last night but not himself at all. His left leg is concerning me most at the moment, I can't see anything wrong with it but it seems to be causing him pain and he's refusing to crawl around, which is normally his favourite thing to do!

Poor little chap

I don't remember the first lot being too bad, he was irritable but we dosed him with Calpol and he was ok.

Thank Christ he isn't due any more now for another two years!

Yeah the first 2 rounds were grand, she wailed right after but once she got her bottle she was fine. Of course back then she was totally unaware of anything that was happening so the ones at 12 months when she has some idea of whats going on will not be fun. :(

My lad was ok for the actual jabs, in fairness to him. They did them bloody quickly, in fairness to the nurse. It was just the aftermath.

Moggy - I guess keep an eye on his leg to make sure it's not swelling or anything.

He seems a lot better now, playing, laughing and being cheeky. He's still tired but I don't mind extra naptimes. ;)

He's still limping though, they weren't big needles but they must have hit a muscle or something.

Jim Carrey was right, why did we ever doubt a man that physically cannot lie?
