So I bought a new stroller for the little guy as we wanted a stroller infant car seat combo as the current set up of Pram with detachable bassinet and big ass convertible car seat is taking up way too much space. I assembled it today and it was broken.



The clips that hold the food tray in place, and also support the infant seat were cracked on one side and broken all the way through on the other. Let's see if Toys R Us takes this back as there is one of those stickers that says to not return the stroller to the store if you have a problem with it. But my thinking is that it's clearly broken and from looking at the plastic I would need some special tools to take this bit out and replace it.

Any recommendations for a good light weight stroller that also comes with a car seat? Preferably one that doesn't have the infant seat supported by the food tray.

Bonus if you can find it here...

Slightly against what you wanted but I would recommend separate car seat and buggy, they ougrow their first car seat in like 6 to 9 mo the making the whole thing a very short lived expensive thing, we bought a simple £40 buggy from eBay and it's worked out great it's not as sturdy as mega expensive ones but it is 14 months old and still going strong and as I say car seat wise but is on a "proper" car seat now aspnd has been from about 9 months so had we gone travel system I would have been pissed as we would have had to replace both buggy and car seat at 9 months due to it being too small and bug being pissed off about being in it (she really got annoyed with being in the baby car seat over the proper one,)

The journey out was challenging, but we had an empty seat next to us which helped. The journey back I just hooked him up to Peppa Pig on the iPad and he as golden. Eventually fell asleep on me.

Airport Security, though, was one of the more stressful events of my life.

Coming back from Germany last week there was a woman sitting next to us on the plane with a (very well behaved) baby of about six months. She looked like she wanted to cry having come through security etc in Berlin and with the prospect of having to go through it all again at Glasgow airport. The baby was a friendly chap, took a real shine to my girlfriend, who has been talking about it non-stop since we got back

Bobs is 4 months old, he is rolling, sitting up, sleeping through, on his belly, and eating porridge, well its like thick milk, but porridge. Every day he does something new now, its strawberry floating amazing, he was sitting in his bumbo chair at the weekend with a roses chocolate (in wrapper of course ) and i nearly burst in tears from how proud I was.

Now the newborn stage is gone, yes I enjoyed it but it was tough, as in mentally draining, this little 4 month bundle of dribble, responds to me, copies what i do, we can delay his sleep t keep him awake, he sits in the bath with me, and generally is amazing. I didn't want to wish away the first few months of his life, but now this part is here every day is a joy.

Honestly mate it just gets better and better from there and you have so much to look forward to (crawling, walking, starting to talk!). It’s sounds like wanky Facebook “full time momma” shite, but treasure every day, it all goes by so quickly. When I say good night to him now, he actually blows kisses at me as I back out of the room (he picked it up by copying me!), it’s just so lovely and cute.

My lad is coming up to 17 months and he still loves the Bumbo chair. He barely fits in it anymore, but he’ll completely ignore the bigger rocking chair we bought him as he loves the Bumbo.

He has a jumparoo as well. Anything that involves sitting or standing and he's on it. He doesn't blow kisses yet but when we go to get him in the morning when he has woken up he starts waving his arms and legs so quickly they're gonna fall off. I take that as excitement We're going swimming at the weekend, he's got a dinosaur swimming outfit

haha yeah we have gooseberry fool loads of photos now, not that I show people.
We have a google album that is shared between me, the wife, and the nans and we can all add stuff as we take pics so we have a really good record of her growing up and everyone has access to pics if they want them.

I really make a conscious effort to try and not talk about him and show off photos of him all the time. It’s so boring to non-parents to hear about other peoples kids, but it’s hard not to chat about the new things he is doing.

On Monday I took him out for a bit and when we got back home I took his socks off. I played the game of putting his socks to my nose and shouting “poo! they stink!” to make him laugh and then said “go and put them in the washing machine”. He took them, walked to the washing machine and put them in.

You make it sounds far easier and idyllic than it actually is, unless you're extremely lucky.

Don't get me wrong, little one is now 5 months and she's awesome most of the time but she certainly does not sleep through every night (we've had a major regression), she hates being put to bed because she wants to carry on playing, she refuses to nap because she wants to play but then gets grumpy because she's too tired.

The little bugger is hard work!
