We had phases like this with one of our kids at that age, I think for the most part my advice would be to not worry too much. I believe that at that age (and for a fair while yet) they get the vast majority of their nutrition from milk rather than anything else so as long as he's still drinking that you should be fine!

I used to think of food as more of a preparation activity at this age - getting them used to flavours, textures and the general process of eating, rather than the core mechanism for getting them fed.

Thanks Jenuall, I'll keep that in mind.

Also, I've figured out the best way to get him to drink is to just do away with all the special cups and just let him drink from a normal plastic cup. He seems to be doing well with it, the only down side being he's too small to hold the cup properly for now so always needs someones help. Still one less thing to worry about!
