Mine is 8 months old now and he's still fairly slow with food, and almost never wants to drink water.

By slow, I mean sometimes he will eat sometimes, but it's very... slow. He just sits there, sort of spaced out, and will every so often let a spoon into his mouth. Other times he just refuses to eat and gets very fussy.

With water, he has one of those spill proof munchkin cups, like this but smaller and with handles...

https://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Miracle ... 2Bcup&th=1

And he loves to chew on the handles, and occasionally on the rim, but will very rarely drink.

He also sweats like crazy, so I'm sure he must be thirsty but he just refuses to drink.

We had phases like this with one of our kids at that age, I think for the most part my advice would be to not worry too much. I believe that at that age (and for a fair while yet) they get the vast majority of their nutrition from milk rather than anything else so as long as he's still drinking that you should be fine! :)

I used to think of food as more of a preparation activity at this age - getting them used to flavours, textures and the general process of eating, rather than the core mechanism for getting them fed.

Oh my word, us too.

I put it on for Finn about a week ago because I was fed up of rescue bots and paw patrol.

Little guy is absolutely hooked. More so than anything else that came before.

I'm going to make him an Ash Ketchum outfit :datass:

Thanks Jenuall, I'll keep that in mind.

Also, I've figured out the best way to get him to drink is to just do away with all the special cups and just let him drink from a normal plastic cup. He seems to be doing well with it, the only down side being he's too small to hold the cup properly for now so always needs someones help. Still one less thing to worry about!

Get one of those tommy tippee cups that have the clip on spout lid then take the lid off, they have handed so little in can hold it better.

Thanks, we have a Tommy Tipee cup but it has a screw on lid, I'll look into this one with the removable lid.

No worries, if you use the lid you need to close it very slowly I've never mastered it and when I closed it it would squirt a fountain of water, constantly got moaned at for making a mess.

Haha, I remember doing that a few times!

As long as you remember to only fill the cup to below where the lid will sit then you shouldn't get the water fountain effect!

Ours wouldn't drink anything. We put the tiniest amount of juice into it and it worked. We've since gone back to eater and he now guzzles it like a maniac.

I suggested adding in some juice too, but the wife wants to avoid him getting used to it so I won't push it. For now if I hold the cup he'll drink out of it. We tried giving him the Tommy Tippee sippy cup again, the one with a rubber spout and he loves chewing on it, but won't actually drink :fp:

Also, has anyone else noticed that everyone in the world of Bing Bunny is a single parent? Like Bing has Flop, who I assume is his dad, but no mom, and that elephant has a mom but no dad.

My lad was crying because he wanted Peppa Pig on. Then he cried because he didn’t want it on. Then cried because he wanted it on.

He’s currently crying because it’s on. :fp:

Happy Father’s Day.

Forcing your child to endure football should be a criminal offence

Moaning about football should be a bannable offence.

We can’t figure out where he has got it from, but my lad has started telling us off if we are annoying him (which for me is always).

He puts a really serious look on his face, points his index finger and says “STOP!” like a strict headmaster.
