3 a day is about right, although the little bugger always seems to manage to avoid doing one at nursery or at his grandparents if they are looking after him. Yeah cheers son, save that up for when you get home. :x :x :x

It's not actually that bad at first. When they are only on milk it doesn't smell too bad and doesn't look like adult poo.

Once they are on solids though it is a different story. :dread:

You do kind of get used to it, the frist few times I was gagging and that, now its just fine.

That said it does seem to have done something to my nose as the memory of the smell re-appears every so often and I swear I can smell baby gooseberry fool.

I usually dont take any notice but there was one night I had to leave the room, the stink was going right up my nose. I had to stand in the hall while the Mrs took care of it, of course she found it hilarious. That was the only time I had an issue though, its been amazing how you take no notice of it after a few changes. Even when you take her out of her car seat and theres gooseberry fool after seeping out of the nappy so shes covered from neck to knee in the stuff and screaming in your face as you try to deal with it.

Wait till they're 6 years old and gooseberry fool the bed.

Or better, fill their pants walking around Magic Kingdom cos they're too excited and forget to go to the toilet!

Our main bathroom is joined to the main bedroom and has quite a large step to get into it. Which is perfect as while he can make it up stairs now, he hasn’t been able to climb up this step.

Until yesterday that is. I went to give him a bath and left him naked on the floor while I ran the bath. As quickly as it took me to turn the taps on, I heard a giggle and looked around to see that he had not only gotten up the step, but was scurrying across the bedroom as fast as his arms and legs could take him. While pissing (not literally!) himself laughing about it.

There is now nowhere safe to leave him without him vanishing in a split second. :x

This! It's been a standing joke for a few months now. I collect him from either the in-laws or the nursery, and he gooseberry fools as soon as we get in the door at home :fp:

Word or warning to anyone who has yet to go through the 1 year booster jabs yet: strawberry floating nightmare. In fairness, Archie handled the jabs themselves quite well, but they have totally trashed his sleep patterns, and he was 'ill' (without any obvious specific symptoms) for about 10 days. :fp: :(

I know they all respond differently, but the poor kid has been so uncomfortable.

Great, my lad is 1 soon so we have that to look forward to. :x

Maybe we should convert to Jenny McCarthy's way of thinking so we can avoid any disruption in sleep patterns?

Based on how knackered I am right now, this sounds like a plan.

I keep thinking that I am doing ok and then he'll do an awful one and I will be almost gagging.

When he was only on milk it was fine, it's the solids that make it stink. I think kids should only be given milk until they are fully toilet trained.

Quick question for you guys. How did you deal with the change in lifestyle . I guess I've always been quite selfish with playing games, going to footie matches and going out with friends. Right now the gaming has dwindled a lot, football matches which I had booked in have dried up and will need to stay that way because of costs and going out of course is very limited. I'm finding it quite hard recently with the switch and also explaining to my single or childless friends I just can't go out as much . Fairly sure I'm not the only guy who had this situation. The little guy is awesome though I just think I'm struggling a little with adapting to a new way of life right now. I'm sure I'll get use to it but because I also don't get nights free to easily even getting a gaming session in is a struggle .

I don't o out anywhere near as much because of most, however I do still go to the pub etc. The guys at work are stunned I do because for them they dropped all their old life as the kid came, but both complain about not getting to be them sort of thing.
I think it is important to keep some of your old life and bring the new addition into it not totally change as that will just lead to unhappiness and resentment.
For example me and the fpwife have always had Merlin passes and gone to theme parks, we haven't for last 2 years due to preggo and then baby, but this year we have them again and are going to take bug to chessington and Lego where there are ride we can do together, as well as book days off work or give bug to a one of our mums for the day to let us do thorpe park or whatever.

Basically, your life changes, but what you were shouldn't be over, and it is essential I feel to find a balance or in a few years you will be so depressed and stuff as you can't be you anymore.

It's a massive change in lifestyle but I am lucky as the missus doesn't mind me going out now and then. That's still a big change, instead of going out at least once a week it's more like once every couple of months!

TV/gaming suffers as well, it's just hard to concentrate on watching/playing stuff with a little one around. Most of my non-sport TV is now watched in bed when he's asleep!

It's all worth it though, he's amazing and it's just a change in lifestyle not a end of life.

I had no social life before kids as all my friends moved from the area I live in and now lives miles away. So it hasn't effected me. Games wise I tend to play them everyday still. Thing is my youngest is 4, so they aren't as needy as littler kids.
