I think it is important to keep some of your old life and bring the new addition into it not totally change as that will just lead to unhappiness and resentment.
For example me and the fpwife have always had Merlin passes and gone to theme parks, we haven't for last 2 years due to preggo and then baby, but this year we have them again and are going to take bug to chessington and Lego where there are ride we can do together, as well as book days off work or give bug to a one of our mums for the day to let us do thorpe park or whatever.

Basically, your life changes, but what you were shouldn't be over, and it is essential I feel to find a balance or in a few years you will be so depressed and stuff as you can't be you anymore.

Yeah i do get to go out a little already which is good and due to me having tickets already booked i went to a few spurs games in the last couple of months before WHL is knocked down. My gaming time has certainly taken a nose dive though so i find myself watching way more tv and movies as our little guy is quite clingy and won't sleep without being held. That is the biggest pain but i can see that phase finishing soon as he seems damn eager to be sitting up by himself . Overall i'm slowly figuring out a balance of it all but it's been trickier than i expected as i'm very much a me time kind of person where as the wife just loves to be around people and chatting all the time.

Still all worth it of course, he's a fun and happy little one and doesn't really cry much apart from when he gets tired plus for the last month or so he sleeps from about 9 till 2 until he needs another feed.

My wife keeps mentioning this, I've said no, but it seems she wants something like a video camera or something else for the baby which is fine.

If she wanted some piece of jewlery or something she can forget it.
