They poos where something I didn't expect, it was like tar to start with. Cool thing I hadn't realised though is when they are doing "normal" poos, if they are green it shows they are eating too much, which is sort of cool in an odd way.

Yeah, they're gross too :dread: We've gone from tar, to a mustard grey thing, green is if they've eaten too much or have tummy ache. And Rax was right, the amount of piss they hold is amazing

It's when you go onto the seed poos that'll throw you.
Light brown with little white/cream "seed" shaped lumps.

Well odd.

Also, our midwife said that as long as our lad was eating and didn't have a temperature, he'll most likely be fine. Just keep an eye on him.

Been having some right grief with him sleeping the past few days. As in, well, he won't. He falls to sleep on her chest. On me. But as soon as he goes on his back in his basket, give him 10 minutes and he's thrashing everywhere. My mom is visiting for a few days and has wedged him so he sleeps on his side. And hey presto he has been zonked for the last few hours. Visiting a few forums seems a lot of moms have the same issues. Was worried after being told by the midwives for him to sleep on his back only. But it seems lots put them on their side.

Anyone in here done this?

Bug refused to sleep on her back, she was on her side in the hospital (midwife did it) got horn we continued it.

The general rule is on back, but listen to the baby, if they will sleep on their side but not back run with, we used a folded pillow and a towel to hold her in place to stop her rolling.

Yeah the latest advice is for them to sleep on their back but Zelda slept on her side, we rolled up a blanket and put it behind her in the basket so she couldnt roll over. She tends to sleep on her back more now that shes older and in a cot, either way shes been a great sleeper so I say go with whatever puts em to sleep.

Glowy, we're having the exact same issue. She loves sleeping on us but often won't sleep well on her back in the cot or basket or carry cot. I've got a gooseberry fool ton of paternity leave so we just do shifts; I've been playing a lot of PS4 at 2-5am whilst she sleeps on my chest.

He has been ratty and restless all day, shitting after every feed as well, turns out our formula is for babies suffering with constipation or colic, we bought it because we thought it would help prevent it. Turns out Ive been giving my child a laxative, hence the crying, the unsettled child and s many poo's :( Absolutely mortified. We've changed his milk to normal milk and he's now sleeping and is settled, thank strawberry float.

Easily done I am sure. We haven't touched formula yet to be honest. Boob juice all the way!

My favourite thing she does is eat too much, spit it out, demand more immediately, spit it out, demand more, etc. She has put on so much weight she is now officially fat and the milk gets stuck in her double / triple chins, turning into some sort of weird boob cheese around her neck. Amazing!

Ooo not fun, we had to swap milk with bug, she was cow and gate and it played havoc with her skin and sleep and stuff. Moved to SMA after that and she was fine.

After 6 months we were on proper food she moved to full fat milk and a vitamin supplement thing, and all's good.

Its wank. Seeing him in so much pain earlier was proper gooseberry fool. He has 2 days worth of sleep to catch up on so fingers crossed we'll get him settled.

Triple chins    Oliver put on 2oz in his first week, and the midwife is due on monday, we're back to normal cow and gate now. And you can you see the difference in the powder, one is thick and gooey, the other is fine and powdery, fingers crossed we'll be okay now.

She hasn't breast fed cus she is on anti depressants and was worried about creating a withdrawal when she withdraws the boob juice.

Makes sense, we didn't boob feed as it didn't work out to start anyways and it was easier having it all made up in the dpfrdieg ready for when bug wanted it and there was no risk of running low sort of thing.

Glad he better though, seems daft that other types are just available you would think you would need a recommendation from a gp or something as they can cause quite a lot of upset if used when they aren't needed.

Aptamil supremacy.

We had troubles with Finn being sick often on Cow and gate and SMA.
We had to take him to hospital when he was very tiny and the nurse in the kids ward said
"I'm not allowed to give you advice on what milk to use, we have to he impartial...

..but I can go and make your son a bottle of Aptamil as I think that's all we have.. * wink *"

He was right as rain after. Will use aptamil again with the next one too.

A lot love that milk. Oliver hasn't been sick once, it was flying out the wrong end. Since we've switched this afternoon, he has slept for 5 hours, had a bath and is now milk comatised

We didn't try aptamil, we went cow and gate as our local hospital uses it in pre-made form, the powder though didn't work well with bug at all. When we switched I only picked SMA as I had it as a kid as did the wife so my logic was there was a good change Bug would be fine too. ALso they have tins, so I was able to keep stuff for storing stuff and making some stilts when bug is bigger :D

We were the opposite, the Aptamil did not sit right at all, constipated, always hungry, runny gooseberry fools. We switched to SMA and its all good, its amazing how the different brands can be so different.

I always feel like less of a man when I throw one out, I think I should be keeping them to put nails and stuff in.

I was only allowed to keep 2 because apparently it is a pointless waste of space to keep them..... Women ....
