Congrats dude!

It's a shame everyone is so far apart it might be fun to do a Dad's Of GR Meet-up.

Thanks all! :toot:

My wife is coming home today but baby Renée will be in special care for at least another fortnight. She's perfectly healthy, breathing unaided etc but at 33 weeks she's just too young to come home.

I've already got down and dirty and changed a few nappies. 8-)

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

I haven't posted on here for a loooong time, this is a great thread, seeing people who joined around the time as me becoming parents.

I've got 2 little girls myself. Sophie will be 4 in April and Freya will be 2 in April. It's been incredibly hard work having them so close together, but the best thing we've ever done. They're great. Apart from when they're being little strawberry floating gooseberry fools.

Interesting reading about folks saying their kids turn consoles and TV's off whilst they using them - how many people here actually watch/game around their kids?

Not saying there's anything wrong with it, just for me I'd feel weird playing games when I could be doing stuff with the kids. Gaming is definitely a post bedtime activity now in this house!

I have done, moo quite enjoys watching / getting in the way.

I have never been one for playing for long anyway so ill do a bit then play with moo and read some stories or whatever so it's all good.

When Finn started getting into Lego I introduced him to star wars Lego on the PS4, must be about a year ago now.

Little tike is amazing at it! And usually wants to play it most evenings after dinner.

Playing games with him is pretty cool :)
He's also pretty good at Mario Kart on our WiiU too*.

(*He's not, he's always coming last)

Yeah playing kid friendly stuff alongside them is always fun. Mine have started to get into Mario Kart on Switch but even with all the assists on and the CPU set to easy they can struggle!

I know several people though who will happily sit and play Assassin's Creed or COD whilst their babies and toddlers are around and that just seems bizarre to me.

Having two young ones, on occasion they'll play with each other, so in the past I've tried to get a little gaming in but it just didn't work due to the games I play, so I've never bothered since. So yeah, definitely a post bedtime activity now.

Yeah, I wouldn't do that at all.
Anything with guns or fighting become "after dark" games.

Even put the clappers on one game that was a micromachine rip off because of the machine gun power ups etc.

Recently got into Doki Doki though! What an adorable game that is for kids to play

For those with xboxs there is a free app for kids called toddler box, moo is loving it!

It's a simple thing with animals moving but when they hit a it changes animals left thumb stick changes background colour right moves the screen and triggers zoom.
