This is being billed as a spiritual successor to Sensi (Check out the above video, 0.41) and is coming to Switch and PC this year with the other consoles receiving the game in 2024.

Maybe it's just that I haven't played a football game in over a decade but I prefer this simpler graphics style to the photorealism of the FIFA games.
Having a super simple to play football game without loads of combos should work pretty well.

I can imagine this would look pretty great on the OLED switch.

Top down view, vertical pitch, single button controls and bundled with a Competition Pro joystick and I'm in.

Definitely interested in the Switch version of this, imagine it'll be good for quick play sessions on there. Will have to see how much they are asking for it.

I'm keen to see more of this... but I'll definitely be holding off until reviews arrive. I never really got into Sensible Soccer back in the day as I preferred Kick-Off and Goal! by Dino Dini.

Nintendo Life reported that the game launches on Switch in the eShop next Thursday, 16 November, with a boxed version arriving in "Q1 2024".

However, the game's official website says:

The Steam version of Sociable Soccer 24 will go on digital release on 16th November 2023, with the Nintendo Switch version also out before Christmas. Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions, plus boxed release of all formats will be released in Q1 2024.

Player Manager was my jam, must have put about a year into that on ST.

I used to have a version of Sensible Soccer on the Game Boy. I thought it was fantastic at the time and played tons of it on car rides and holidays. It had a slightly weird selection of teams, with I think only two club sides per country. England had Manchester (United) and Norwich. So you'd either do international tournaments or a European cup each time.

I'm interested. I tried last year's FIFA - I really tried - but I just don't like it and never have. The fact the frame rate was dogshit on my very capable pc was a contributing factor.

I also got SWOS (with current players) but was struggling to readjust to the gameplay, which was disappointing as I assumed I'd have retained the muscle memory.

Basically, I miss Pro Evo. Maybe Sociable Soccer will fill that hole.

Oh, man, yeah. I played that series so much on PS1, PS3 and PS4. I haven't even tried eFootball but - outside of all the "ultimate team"-type of crap - I heard that the core gameplay is decent now. It might be worth a look as it's "free-to-start".

I miss winning the champions league with my local maltese side in SWOS. Just give me the career mode with SWOS background music and I'm in.

I miss International Superstar Soccer Deluxe. You could turn the ref in to a dog.

But I also loved Sensible Soccer (and, to a lesser extent Kick Off 2). Will be interested to see how it plays.

Kick Off 2 was wild. Football crossed with pinball.

Anyone going for this? Think I'll get it on Steam and see how I get on. Might add the Switch version later to play with my son if it's good.

How much is it on Steam? Is the Switch version out yet - doesn't sound like it is from twitter. I'd prefer it on Switch I think.

Woah... £25. I might have to wait, things are a bit tight at the minute.

And the linesmen- they carried the flags in their mouths.

My most favouritest football game ever.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

My second favouritest football game ever was US Gold's World Cup USA 94 on the SNES which was just a re-skinned Kick Off 2.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Did anyone pick this up yet? It’s 50% off on Steam now (£12.49) and thinking of picking it up for the Steam Deck
