I need a new TV so I was very much hoping they were just going to stop development for a few years.

Maybe that's the announcement.

Most likely, they like to make out they are innovating when they are just doing what everyone else is doing. They tried to make it sound like they were the "innovating" and "new" when they added wireless charging to the Galaxy phones yet Nokia had been doing it years and it had been in the Nexus phones.

I can't get excited about Samsung, the Galaxy 7 Edge was quite a nice phone but generally they seem to have made a fortune by being relentlessly average in every department. I'd take a Sony or Panny TV over theirs any day.

I had recently decided that the KS7000 as probably my next telly, but at £850 (as of this weekend) was still a bit steep for me. Hoping it'll hit the £650 mark in the next quarter or so: a new range of TVs will surely help that.

I will never give up hope.

Only Samsung product I own is my fridge. It's not 4K but the image quality is still pretty great.
