If that's true my missus will kill me! I told her that spoiler because I had read they were not doing that in the show.

Well she'll never expect it then.

True, plus she should know that I am king of spoilers.

No one is safe from Moggy spoilers. Not even his loved ones.

GRRM thinks he can finish Winds of Winter before season 6 of Game of Thrones starts.

Does Theon ever stop being annoying? Dying doesn't count
I'm on my third attempt at trying to make it through his first chapter in A Clash of Kings but I lose the will to live every time he starts going on about bloody salt wives/acts like an arrogant naive tit in some way

He turns out to be one of the more interesting characters. Persist with his chapters.
There's no strawberry floating way GRRM will finish Winds of Winter before Season 6.

Unless he's been trolling us all this time and actually has a lot of the script for the remaining books written down, just needing re-writes and stuff.
Actually, he did say AFFC/ADWD would be the most complex books to write out of all of them by far, due to the timelines and practical quandaries he hadn't anticipated earlier. He admitted he pretty much came to a standstill writing them (and I think it shows in those 2 books personally). Perhaps he's been racing along with the story since that roadblock....

I hope so, I really do. I reckon Winds of Winter will be comparable to Storm of Swords in terms of major events happening. I felt like Feast and Dance were setup books, placing all the pieces for something colossal to happen.
Spoiler'd as I don't want anyone excitement ruined if they haven't caught up with the books.

His arrogance collapses very quickly. Power through.

Okay this will be current with TV, and as of the end of Dances with Dragons, mainly me wondering how they will finish off the series and how it will conflict/overshoot the books

I wanna make a suggestion here. It is my belief, that John Snow is in-fact the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Liane Stark. We know that he was the one to give her a crown of flowers when winning a tournament and then, from what we know he kidnapped, raped and killed her. Edard then found her in a pool of blood (Potentially from childbirth) and that she told him "Promise me". As we know Robert would have murdered the child immediately he adopts him as his own. In addition, Shawn Bean (The actor of Edard) claimed that "We all know that Ned isn't his real dad, had to be reveled by someone".
As further proof, Targaryen represent fire, the south and passion. Whereas Stark represent the cold, cruel north. A union between the two, celebrated by singing, may even be referred to as "A Song of Ice and Fire"?

R+L=J is the most accepted theory but I'd be very surprised if Rhaegar had raped her. Everyone's anecdotal evidence about Rhaegar apart from Robert Baratheon points to R and L eloping. That Knight of the Laughing Tree story in Storm of Swords especially .

I read a really cool theory about the origins of the wall. There's some interesting fan theories out there, like Euron is Daario and Tyrion being the son of the mad king. It's cool that people are that invested in what will happen in this series.

I'd hate it if Tyrion was a Targaryen. Jaime and Cersei though would make sense.

I've long suspected Jon is half Targeryan which explains the lack of silver hair or violet eyes and why everyone thinks he's Neds bastard.
I think he'll
survive his stabbing by warging into either Ghost or the giant then back into his zombiefied body, which I reckon Coldhands/Benjen Stark did beforeMemento Mori wrote:I'd hate it if Tyrion was a Targaryen. Jaime and Cersei though would make sense.
It'd be quite fitting that Tyrion is Tywins only true offspring.

Smashed through all of the books in the space of several weeks, they're absolutely brilliant. I don't want to watch the show because I think they've dicked about with too many things.
My DwD book had an excerpt of The Winds of Winter in the back! It was a
Theon chapter and it seems to me that the timeline of WoW will be
again uneven, with the events of Winterfell leading to Ramsey Snow sending that awful letter to Jon.
