The paperback edition of ADWD has finally been released in the US, and with a new sample chapter - Barristan Selmy. Problem for us limeys is that it's exclusive to the US paperback edition and it won't be legally put online anywhere. So if we want to read it, we'll have to buy the US edition. I was looking forward to my next mini-fix as well. Such bullshit.

If that covers the Battle of Mereen I read a summary of it when GRRM read it at a convention.

Yeh, it probably is, I'm just not that keen on reading a summary, but I would be keen on reading the actual chapter.

There's an excerpt on Martin's site as well:

GRRM has written a short story about The Dance of the Dragons.

Dangerous Women: “The Princess and The Queen, or, The Blacks and The Greens” (Excerpt).

If you download the A World of Ice and Fire App you can read a full Tyrion chapter for free as well. Surely this is building up to a release sometime soon. I would hope by this time next year at the latest.

Complete season 4 Game of Thrones episode titles:

4x01 Two Swords April 6, 2014
4x02 The Lion and the Rose April 13, 2014
4x03 Breaker of Chains April 20, 2014
4x04 Oathkeeper April 27, 2014
4x05 First of His Name May 4, 2014
4x06 The Laws of Gods and Men May 11, 2014
4x07 Mockingbird May 18, 2014
4x08 The Mountain and The Viper June 1, 2014
4x09 The Watchers on the Wall June 8, 2014
4x10 The Children June 15, 2014

Predictions then going from those titles. Massive Storm of Swords spoilers obviously :

4x01- Tywin melting down Ned's sword.
4x02- Purple wedding.
4x03- Dany frees some slaves in Mereen.
4x04- Jaime gives Brienne her new quest.
4x05- Tommen's coronation.
4x06- Tyrion's first trial.
4x07- Maybe "Only Cat"? Seems too early though.
4x08- Self-explanatory:datass:
4x09- Battle of the wall obviously.
4x10 Bran meets the Children of the forest .

Oh definitely I'm just wondering if it's when he shoves Lysa out the moon door. Maybe it's the kiss scene. :dread:

I reckon we'll see Sansa disappear after the purple wedding and then this episode will focus on her flight, Litlefinger's part in it and then his wooing and marriage to Lysa.

Her demise will come at the end of 9/10 i reckon. They have moved the timelines about, though so it may well all be done in that one ep (7).

I just had a look at Storm of Swords again, Lysa's death is literally the last chapter before the epilogue. It contrasts nicely with Stoneheart's appearance so I hope they haven't moved it up to 4x07.

I don't like how they keep cramming each book into 10 episode seasons, especially as GRRM is nowhere near finishing the books yet.

Feast for Crows and Dance with Dragons could quite easily fill two seasons each and even then it'll still be highly unlikely that the seventh book will be finished or even started.

They would be awful seasons.

Storm of swords is over two seasons.

Been switching between the audiobooks and the books for a few weeks. At the start of Storm of Swords part 2. I feel for the narrator, the first half of the book he has to sing all these daft songs and the second seems to be nothing but "you know nothing Jon Snow".

Anyone who is up to date: Without spoiling it, does anything actually happen with Arya by the end of book 5? Clearly building to something and the character is interesting but it seems to only be some Walking Dead-esque strolling from one place to the next right now. Those chapters are killing me.

Completely non-spoilery answer

No.

Slightly more spoilery and accurate answer:
She's on the verge of doing something very interesting.

Wait there actually is a pretty good Arya scene in Storm of Swords but I can't remember when it happens. Sorry. It's been a while since I've read it.

Where exactly in the book are you?
