Songs that would have been great Bond themes....

But sadly never were.

Inspired by reading the comments for this:

I fully agree that even the song title is very Bond-ish.

Radiohead wrote two that both got rejected for Spectre

This one in the 90s got rejected for being too old, I personally thought would have been epic

I'm not as huge a fan of the one they wrote especially for it but it's also alright

The names Bong, James Bong.

First thought was this.

It was the central theme for the sort-of-alright Iron Sky, but would've made an excellent Bond theme if things had worked out differently.

Ace of Bass wrote the original theme tune to GoldenEye.
And Timothy Dalton was the original Bond for that movie.

I do kinda prefer Tina Turner's take a little, but I think Dalton's rough-around-the-edges Bond would have been perfect for GoldenEye's plot, and this song would have fit well with his era; Brosnan himself thought his own Bond wasn't good enough.

Tomorrow Never Dies is another movie that had a rejected theme to go along with the one chosen, except this time around there were two rejects.

The Pulp one is interesting, but perhaps it isn't Bond-y enough? Then again, neither were Duran Duran nor A-ha. Incidentally, the movie was originally going to be called "Tomorrow Never Lies", but changed because of a typo, or so is said.

But, the k d lang one is so obviously the original intended theme, and as much as I love Sheryl Crow's rendition, this one is simply better.
