It's basically Sonic 2 with new levels, they'd have to put serious effort into strawberry floating this one up.

So long as Sonic Team steer clear we'll be in for a treat.

As long as it controls like a normal Sonic game, it looks like a winner. Theres no Sonic denial circle here because the game actually looks like the Sonic we wanted all along!

It's a Sonic game. I loved them at the time and Sonic 3 & Knuckles would be in my personal top 10 games ever but Sonics been a bad franchise for literally decades at this stage. If this turns out great I'd be delighted but I can't get excited for this.

This game disregards the past 22 years (seriously, it's been that long) and is a continuation of the MegaDrive games, same engine, same physics, same graphics, same everything.

It shouldn't have taken 22 years for someone to realize that taking Sonic out of the 16-bit era was a bad idea.

Does anyone at Polygon know how to play video games?! First the Doom demo and now this. :cry:

I always found it weird that Sonic was purple in the original game. A colour limitation with the Mega Drive, perhaps?

That's not purple.

It's more purple than it is blue.

Its a dark blue, but it is definitely blue.
