Yep it's amazing and works so well on Switch.
There was a slight issue on release with the special stages having some very occasional slow down but that was fixed a while back now.
If you like classic Sonic it's a no brainer.

That feeling when you're doing so well on Oil Ocean Act 2, right up until one of the last subs, where you proceed to lose your shield and all your rings, and the boss is right after it.

Sega has announced Sonic Mania Plus, a packaged release version of Sonic Mania with new features, due out this summer.
The packaging will feature a holographic slip cover, reversible Sega Genesis / Mega Drive-branded sleeve, and 32-page Sonic Mania art book. It will cost $29.99.
Sonic Mania Plus will feature two new playable characters (Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel), an all-new “Encore Mode,” and an expanded four-player “Competition Mode.”
Users who already own Sonic Mania will be able to get the new content of Sonic Mania Plus via a free update.
Pre-orders open on March 19.

(though I've been watching the stream this was announced in, and one contradiction: I could swear they said it'd be paid DLC for existing owners without an announced price, bit of uncertainty there)

Not a single price drop for this game in any console digital sales since release...I know because I’ve been looking for it every week! Gonna just bite the bullet and get the disc, the makers deserve the money.

Stardust Speedway Act 2 can strawberry float right off. I'm on the verge of dropping the game over this. Just insanely cheap gimmicks.
I honestly hope the people behind this stage never work on another game.

£3.99 is a great price for this, I'm sure I'll grab it as soon as it's out!
Does make me wonder how long we might have to wait for a Mania 2 though, if we're getting one that is? Despite clearly not having enough time to play the number of release that are coming out these days I do still kind of miss the days when you might get a sequel to a game you loved with 12-18 months of the original. I mean Sonic 2 was what, 18 months after Sonic 1? I can imagine we've got much longer to wait before we see a sequel to this!

Yeah me too - hopefully they are working away on something great right now. Mania Plus may well be the stop-gap to give us something to tide everyone over until the real follow up!
Which makes me think - I used to frequent a forum that the guys behind this used to post to semi-regularly, I might stop in and see if they have dropped any hints as to what they are up to!
