I hadn't realised that this is two games; a brand-new adventure featuring Sonic (classic and modern versions!) and Shadow plus a remaster of the original Sonic Generations.

Generations seemed to be well-regarded by most so hopefully this'll be a pack to look forward to.

Any idea if this will be an update for the current Steam version of Generations?

I'm not too familiar with PC gaming, Milner, but when I looked on Steam this game had a new product page.

Yeah, it looks like a separate entry to the original, thought they might have offered some form of upgrade but maybe that’s asking too much haha

I do find it fun how for the first half of that trailer they're using the Classic version of City Escape despite showing Modern Sonic gameplay.

Still can't tell what is meant to be remastered with that Generations gameplay, as it looks the exact same to my eyes. I'm sure side-by-side comparisons might have already found something, though. The bigger news is the Shadow game attached onto it. I'm hoping it will have as many levels as the main game, even if not as many stages.

Is there a £10 upgrade?

I don't expect so, but it's hard to stomach paying full price for a remaster if you're only interested in the new content.

Like remastering candy for a baby.

And that's fine by me.

Sonic Generations, which was released 12 years ago, is easy to get hold of today, and still looks great, must be a new record in the "pointless remasters" competition (aside from the point of making money).

Also, Blaze game when?

Nope. That crown still remains with Sony for remastering The Last Of Us Part II. At least with Generations, as you say, it's been over ten years.

And, yeah I'm still hopeful that this renewed interest in the franchise can give us more spin-offs with the other characters.

I already thought Sonic Generations looked good enough on PC and I'm sure on Xbox front it had XBox One upgrade so it looks and plays better on that than on Xbox 360 (maybe I'm wrong, been a hot while).

I've got it on wishlist on Steam for time being, but I don't think I'd want to buy Generations again if that ends up being case!

So it's a straight remaster of generations plus an included 'Shadow' game? Similar deal to what Mario 3D World port plus the new Bowsers Fury game was?

In. Would have been happy enough with a straight port to Switch so if there's a little more all the better.

But yeah generations doesn't scream out as needing a port.

This wasn't even the most pointless remaster in this State of Play (hello Until Dawn!)

I'd agree with you but that being available on PC for first time is great thing about the annoucement, but other than that yeah I can see your point.

Hey, Fisher, I haven't tried Sonic Superstars - I don't think I'll be getting that. I like the sound of Shadow being in a game so I'll look out for reviews of this new title, though :-).
