That's not what they said at all. They are re-imaging the first game. So it will be different in terms of both story and gameplay.

This is also set to be Insomniac's biggest game yet, both of their studios are on it and it has all the top staff from Insomniac on it. Seems Sony are splashing the cash to get the Ratchet & Clank franchise to where it should be.

It's not a brand new game though is it. It's being based on the first game, not saying there won't be differences but it's not a full blown new title.

I thought the preorder codes were for the beta in July not the alpha this weekend.

Correct. The Closed Beta codes were sent out by Amazon last night.

The Alpha is open to all on Thursday.

That Far Cry 4 feature was very cool, is that due this year?

I'm hoping that at Gamescom we'll see more of the following:

PS4
Ratchet & Clank
Shadow of the Beast
Rime
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
Guerilla's new IP
A new WipEout from Firesprite

Vita
Freedom Wars
Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines
Maybe some new announcements? lol

So TGS to have:

PS4
The Last Guardian
Ni No Kuni 2 or equivalent Studio Ghibli x Level 5 with Sony publishing
Arc the Lad

Vita
Gravity Rush 2

I think Sony have had the stronger conference.

Microsoft's was solid but a bit boring. Most of their exclusives do nothing for me, though others will feel differently.

3rd party non exclusives are meaningless in the long run, but having so many of them at your conference is pretty cool. Farcry 4, Batman and GTAV blow AC and COD out of the water for me. Destiny is a bit meh from where I'm sitting.

In terms of exclusives, again, I think Sony have the stronger line up, on the whole. Project Beast is a pretty huge thing to get exclusivity on, I reckon.

I'd rather have a Platinum game than just about any Suda 51 game, though.

Yeah, definitely Platinum.

Suda is yet to make a game that stacks up to most of what Platinum have put out and his best stuff hasn't been recent.

I would agree with Hugo here. Suda is batshit crazy, sure but recent efforts has been a bit meh.

But of course, it could be a return to form. Maybe. Maybe not.

Are people being serious about the Grim Fandango announcement? I don't think I could take it if this was a joke...

It seriously happened, but I think some people aren't being serious about how less than important it will actually be.

Um, so where were the Vita games? It just looks like it's getting indie/PSN ports now.
