What the strawberry float are they going to talk about for all that time? (Especially if it's mainly PSP-based)

I'm guessing some sort of new hardware peripheral that needs a bit of demoing and explanation.

PSN is going to be a major focus too. Music, movies and vidzone will be talked about. Rental service is another one that will more than likely be talked about.

We won't have owt to hear on GT5 or Trico though

Ah, but this is SCEA's briefing, and they already have movies and rental services up and running.

Trico could be one of the final surprises, hopefully. I mean, surely they've kept SOMETHING secret?

There are a few things that are under wraps but for E3? I haven't heard of anything that could be ready for an E3 reveal. Sony have blown their load early

Well, I'd imagine you haven't heard anything if it's been kept secret.

Under wraps from the press I mean. Other stuff is shown to studios for tech etc.

Well, yes, but I doubt if, say, they finally started SE working on FF7:Remake or something, you'd know about it in advance of the official announcement. Or would you? I dunno.

Note: This isn't to say I'm expecting something of the magnitude of FF7:Remake tomorrow. I'm just saying it's possible for them to be beavering away at something great without sharing it with other 3rd-party studios.

You mean game wise? No I wouldn't know anything unless my friends tell me about them. But I know not of any unannounced games on the PlayStation platforms at this point.

BBC bloke thinks the secret game he saw will be shown.

How do we know there won't be TRICO or GT5 at E3...I mean the GT5 story is soft to start with, just because people have been told not to ask questions, doesn't mean its not going to be there...

Suzz, you and a.nother kinda alluded to two big announcements at E3 from Sony but now you're saying that all the cats have lept out of the bag. What have been those two big announcements?

I never said E3. If you look back at my posts you'll notice I said it would surprise me to see it at E3. I only know of one thing that could be at E3. No idea what the other is.

OK, so the one you know about is still a secret then. At least that's something to look forward to if it does appear at E3.

So, tomorrow's conference - stats, PSP go, a whole raft of new PSP games, TRICO, PS3 games we already knew about... erm... long-term commitments to 3D tech?

I'll throw in an outside one - PS2 compatibility in a firmware update - Sony to sell downloadable PS2 games through the PS Store.

I don't see anyway back for Sony now. They actually have no hands left to play at all. Microsoft set out in 2001 to destroy Sony and take the industry away from them. Mission accomplished. All that hard work Phil Harrison and crazy Ken made has been totally undone by someone playing them at their own game.

This, they've lost all their friends and the big exclusives. Only thing that can save them tomorrow is...

-MASSIVE price cut
-Full PS2 compatability
-Some HUGE exclusives

I see none of them coming

I think some people put too much emphasis on games being announced at E3. Would the new ratchet game, GOW3 or uncharted 2 end up being any better or more appealing if they weren't announced until the E3 conference? Sure it would make for a more entertaining show but after the dust settles it makes little difference.

To be honest there were only a couple of game announcements at the Microsoft Conference that i didn't already know about in one way or another. I expect a similar amount from Sony's, with hopefully some more gameplay footage of GOW3 and Uncharted 2, hopefully a snow level.

It's a done deal. Well, almost.

Sony and Nintendo have time.
Nintendo have marketshare.

If Microsoft can overcome both of those then we're looking at a one console future. Its a huge if though. Sony promised the world with the PS3 in 2005 and we all raved about it for 24 hours, but for various reasons (PR disasters, the long wait) it completely lost lustre. At the same time Nintendo revealed something many people were sceptical about... and look where we are now.

The 24 hours between the MS conference and the Sony one gives Sony the chance to go for the easy banker of the PS3 pricecut. It's pretty clear that it's now even more necessary.

Actually, I think we might see a nice surprise from KojiPro at the Sony conference tomorrow. In addition to the PSP game (and inevitable announcement of MGS:Rising), they've still got to announce that "MASK" title.

It's on their E3 site, seperately from MGS, so it must be something unrelated to MGS they're working on that's to be revealed at E3.
