I'm really struggling to be arsed with this. All the decent content looks like it's online but everything seems to be locked behind single player progression. Which is a load of busy work that I can't be bothered with - play tournament, win by loads, play character, win by loads, repeat loads of times. I like golf games and I usually like EG games too but this is boring.

I'm enjoying it myself but I do prefer PS3 and Vita in long run. Just pretty much practicing on courses as even losing still gets me some experience and gear, and I do like the online aspect but finding myself wishing there's some stuff from PS3 version to be in this.

I really didn't think it took that long to open everything up (once I found Serious mode anyway), yeah I too won by lots on every tournament, but its more about learning the courses and levelling your clubs anyway.

You'll need to be good to win the tournaments in the final Special Rank (especially but not just on the final unlocked Links course) and if you want to go about filling up the Gallery with all the people (not required at all but I think there's a trophy for it) that will take a long time.

I'm on with filling up the gallery in each rank, slowly but steadily. Nearly finished collecting them all in rank 4. A great way to level up your clubs and experiment with different types. Big Air all the way, baby.

Until you've levelled your custom clubs anyway.

Trying for that Condor is getting pretty tedious, been within 6 yards but I can't quite get it.

What course and hole are you trying on?

I've beaten all of the vs characters in Rank 5 but haven't really played much of the actual rank yet, which I assume will raise my golfing level, I've been at 10 for ages.
What's a condor?

4 under par, so a hole in one on a par 5.

So, conditions were suitable yesterday for my (rather weak) fully upgraded Custom Clubs to have a crack at getting a condor.
I got one after only about 15 tries. Couldn’t believe my my luck. I immediately pressed the Share button to record my triumph, and spent a bit of time trimming the clip. So much time, in fact, that the game’s server timed out and didn’t record it. No condor. No Trophy. :fp:

About 3 hours later, I managed it again. But I was getting pretty infuriated with myself the more those three hours crept by.

What’s the best way to upgrade custom clubs? You’re only allowed 10 upgrades to be done, the cost of which is obscene, I might add.

I grinded for about four evenings.
There's 2 gem pick-ups per 9-hole course each day. It took me about 40 mins each evening to whiz about on my cart and find them.
One time-saving tip: there's a 10-hole gap between out 9 and in 9 for where the gems will be. So, if they were on the 2nd hole on the outward 9, when you go to the inward 9 of the same course, the gems will be on the 12th.

Why bother with that when you can get them for doing rounds in the SP game?

I got all mine that way. Oh and you can actually upgrade 11 times (not that you need it for the Condor).

Also in case anyone was unaware, to get all the trophies in the game you'll need to get 3 Condors.

Shall I pursue the tourney, lack of numbers and all?
