Yep. There has been around 40 releases; incredible for a relatively niche format in so short a time period.

The reason the dev 'banked on VR' is because, I am assuming, that is what Sony wanted them to do. And according to the statement Sony put out, VR development will continue elsewhere. So I can't see VR being the reason as to why Cambridge were shut.

This is radio, not television wrote:UK games industry is going to gooseberry fool. What a difference between now and just 10 years ago.

There are a lot more game studios in my area than there were 10 years ago.

Whatever happened to that new tax incentive for games producers that was supposed to help?

UPDATE 18TH JANUARY: Sony has told me the online service for Rigs will be unaffected by Guerrilla Cambridge's closure. There will, however, be no further downloadable content released for the virtual reality game.

"For players of Rigs Mechanized Combat League, we would seek to reassure you that the online service is not affected by this closure," Sony said, "but unfortunately it will mean that there will be no further DLC for Rigs. We shall also continue to provide community support."

And now I'm wondering if their decision to close the studio *does* have something to do with PSVR/Rigs sales...

Was there ever any doubt?
