I think sony already knew ms were going to announce the scorpio, so decided against announcing neo.

I do feel the neo will have a low key launch as they don't want to slow down sales of the ps4, which is only starting to really reach its peak in sales numbers.

I highly doubt any ps4 gamers are going to wait 18 months for a new xbox.

Most likely scenario is scorpio will be delayed until 2018 and sony will announce a ps5 just before them and pretty much finish them off.

Just stop it.

. Just watched the Sony conference.... really enjoyed it; lots of impressive stuff. But I'm put off reading about GRcadian views because of daft tripe like this. Yeah, different opinions is cool - but this is just playground-level talk.

BTW is the conference up on Youtube yet? I missed it last night so would be interested to catch up with it. I had a read on the Sony blog and there were a couple of games that really interested me but haven't been mentioned on here (Masquerada: Songs and Shadows and Pox Nora). Also, Spiderman looks fantastic. Moving around the environments was very cool in the inFamous games so coupling that with a decent main character should mean a great game.

So you can give one solid reason as to why Scorpio will be 'most likely' delayed to 2018 a day after they announce it for 2017 then?

So... yeah, I thought that was a great show. Plenty of really cool-looking games and lots of actual gameplay. I'm excited about nearly every game shown!

I was surprised at how good Call of Duty looked. Maybe it's a whoosh-bang ride... but the action was fast and detailed. Spider-Man was excellent as well, although the lack of a release date suggests it may be some way off. Beyond that, the big-hitters looked fantastic and they present a really strong line-up for the next year or so.

Not in a position to watch anything at the moment - how does Last Guardian look? I feel like we should all be braced for disappointment. But that's based on nothing, really.

I think Sony have only very recently got the licence for Spider-Man so it's probably early days for that. Maybe the end of 2017?

Woke up a bit early and watched the conference this morning. Thought it was really enjoyable, although it was going to be impossible to beat last year for announcements. Great start with God of War, with that Kratos reveal giving me a sort of hell yeah moment that I don't really think I got from any of the Xbox announcements. I was hoping Sucker Punch would be behind the Spider-Man game, but Insomniac is still a developer that gives me hope it will be a great game. Some of the announcements were done it a sort of disappointing way though. Like I really thought they were announcing a new Crash game, but it's just remasters. I also thought they were announcing an X-Wing VR game, and then it's revealed it's just a mission for Battlefront. Both of these are cool things, but not quite as good as what I was expecting when they popped up.

I posted my thoughts in the Scorpio topic but I'll post them again here...

I think MS have had their hand forced to reveal the Scorpio. After all, who announces a console 18 months prior to expected release? The problem they have is the buzz with VR and the fact the PS4 has something this year and is already demonstrating games on it. What MS are saying is that "We also can play VR games in 18 months time". You have to wonder why there was no showing or announcement for the Neo. Given that Sony now know the approximate launch window of the Scorpio they have a lot of time to update it's specs if they feel this is necessary.

Am I right in saying that there wasn't one racing game shown?

It's a tragedy how racing games, especially arcade racers which used be be the showpiece for consoles, have died such a dramatic and sudden death...
