Wow, this must be the first clever use of Home. I've just found the three pieces and am currently trying to crack the online puzzle. Really quite enjoy this.

The lack of interest for Xi is disappointing. It's at least worth a shot people, even if you've already dismissed Home.

I would but the sheer amount of time needed to re-install it all each time I try it (not often) puts me off totally.

Just don't have enough gaming time to waste it sat looking at loading screens.

It would , perhaps, be of interest of they could sort that out.

I tried that Xi thing last night, and couldn't seem to spend more than a minute or two in "the Hub" before getting dropped due to a connection error. Other than that it seemed quite fun, I'll give it a whirl later, and see if it's any better.

PlayStation Home News: EA Unveils The Godfather II Space, Capcom Refreshes RE5 + Special Events!

Tomorrow, April 9th, is shaping up to be a milestone date in the ever-evolving world known as PlayStation Home…and we can’t wait for you all to log in and check out all the cool stuff we’ve had brewing!

First up, EA is launching their first PlayStation Home game space to support the newly-released The Godfather II game. This space will have a Texas Hold ‘Em table and will allow you a place to gather with your fellow PlayStation Home mobsters and tighten up your poker face before EA launches its highly-anticipated Sports Complex.

To celebrate the launch of The Godfather II space, we’ll be throwing our first Celebrity Poker tournament in-world Thursday night and we’re inviting you along to play a hand (or lose a hand, if you can’t settle your debts!). Decorate your avatar to resemble one of your favorite celebrities and then get ready to throw some cards. The party starts at 5:00pm PT (8:00pm EST) and ends when it ends.

On a similarly awesome note, Capcom is further demonstrating their support for all things PlayStation Home-related by refreshing the Resident Evil 5 game space. A new mini-game quest and a souvenir shop with new costumes will be available within the space, and much more. But the best part is that all of you Resident Evil 5 freaks will get a chance to further sharpen your zombie-slaying skills on Thursday, April 16th. Between the hours of 3:00pm and 7:00pm PT (6:00pm and 10:00pm EST), PlayStation Home Community Management team members CydoniaX, BuggieTechnica, and Locust_Star will be joining up with Capcom staff to launch into co-op games of RE5 with PlayStation Home users.

The sessions will last for one chapter or 20 minutes - whichever comes first. To participate, just be sure to show up at the Resident Evil 5 game space and have the game loaded into your PLAYSTATION 3. We’ll be looking for users with the game launching icon over their heads, and if we see you we’ll jump into your game. We’ll be dressed in either the new Chris or Sheva costumes. The question is, will you?

BUZZ! HQ coming to PS Home

Buzz! is set to hit Home for both the UK and the US, and Sony is so excited, it’s posted a virtual tour of the space.

Users can meet up with other trivia fans in the lobby area or take part in a 64-player trivia showdown complete with leaderboards. To win your round, you have to run around the area on one big massive BUZZ! Buzzer and stand on the correct color before time runs out.

Those who land tops on the leaderboards more often than not, can win prizes.

The space is expected to launch soon.

That looks awesome, I must say. Very good way of making the pointlessness of walking about in Home part of the game.

Who knows, might contend with Primetime. It's obviously supposed to. It says the winners get Home prizes though, so nothing decent I'd imagine - virtual clothing and crap for your house or whatever, but at least you can play it whenever you like rather than when it's on, a la Primetime.

Buzz for Home? That is awesome. I love the whole 1 vs 100 thing idea on 360 and this is pretty much the same sort of deal. Colour me very interested.

PS Home update adds photo-uploads

Sony begins to realise the grand vision of PlayStation Home today as photo-sharing is added to the virtual world.

The US PlayStation blog describes this as "the most exciting news since open beta", as photos become the first user-created content within Home.

Photos can be uploaded from PS3 hard-drives and displayed in apartments to friends and visitors. Frames can be bought from the Mall area, plus there are stock photos on offer if you have none.

Sony also launches the Buzz! space for Home today, which manifests as a group quiz game where avatars must co-operate and stand on surfaces coinciding with specific answers.

We're promised the Mall will have Ghostbusters costumes as well as designer outfits and more SFIV clobber, too.

Ghostbusters Firehouse

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters and its worldwide release on Blu-ray tomorrow, Loot, Sony Pictures Entertainment's PlayStation® Home developmer team, and Sony Pictures Consumer Products, together with Atari and Terminal Reality, are releasing the Ghostbusters Firehouse On Location for the PlayStation Home environment.

The Firehouse personal space is a detailed replica of the three floor Ghostbusters headquarters from the original movie. It comes complete with the ghost containment unit in the basement, the garage and office areas on the 1st floor, plus the living room, laboratory, fire poles, bedroom and bathroom areas. The space can be customized with Home players own furniture and picture frames as they host parties and create Ghostbusters: The Video Game strategies with friends.

Ghostbusters Firehouse On Location comes with the Loot's Stage Set camera functionality, movie props and portable blue screens. Users can, through the use of an external special effects/compositing programs, create images of their avatar driving the Ecto-1 in their own machinima movies (capture and editing hardware/software not included). Fans can realize the dream of getting inside the historic Ecto-1, playing with the siren, turning on the engine, opening the trunk and checking under the hood. They can also fly around as Slimer and spook friends by passing right through the walls!

The Firehouse is available starting Thursday, June 18, along with Ghostbusters costumes, ornaments and t-shirts by Loot, which are already available in the PlayStation Home Mall.

 What an absolutely meaningless statement. I'm sure if I had external special effects/compositing programs and capture and editing hardware and software (and the requisite skill to use them) that I could create images of me driving the Ecto-1. Without owning Ghostbusters: The Game or Home.

That's strawberry floating cool, though.
