Can't believe I'm even typing this, but I... agree... with... jawa :dread:

My phone isn't that big (Pixel 6) and I don't have a laptop, so if I could have a device with a bigger screen that would allow me to stream my PS5 on it whilst the wife watched TV that would be quite an appealing product for me. Obviously if it comes out with the usual PS premium price then I probably wouldn't bite, but there's a definite market for this kind of thing.

Unless I can stream my PS5 onto my Chromebook? In which case I wouldn't need this :slol:

It's just so unimaginative, literally bolted a DS5 onto a tablet.

I was hoping for something more akin to steamdeck in power, with PS5 and PS4 being x86 I was hoping ports would be more scabable and the portable would be able to play games on a "low" setting to borrow PC gaming vocabulary.

But whatevs.

The Logitech device was also able to stream from multiple cloud services. If this also did that (and I don't see why it couldn't), it would be a much better proposition.

EDIT: Remote play from Xbox and Steam Link (and not just locally), plus Xbox Cloud, GeForce Now and Shadow PC.

You don't even need to buy anything you can already use a PS5 controller and the PS app to stream PS5 games to your phone.

Come on now. You’ll need either a stand or a clip for your phone at least, unless you have 3 hands.

And it’s all well and good people saying “just use your phone”. Have you ever received a text or a call while in remote play? It’s a disaster. “Just give up your phone” would probably be a more accurate way to describe using it for RP

Get a load of billy loadsa mates over here

You just know they think this is some kind of Switch/Steamdeck killer.

They have completely misunderstood the assignment. As someone who does most of their gaming on the go, this is utterly useless to me. I honestly have no idea who this is for.

I don't think the answer Sony was looking for was 'Preezy'.

It feels like plenty of folk are thinking that this should be a fully portable, stand-alone PS5... which would be fantastic, of course, but could you imagine the cost of that? Shrinking the PS5 down into a small tablet and adding on a DualSense, an eight-inch OLED a rechargeable battery capable of running it for, say, six hours... I'd imagine you'd be looking at over £1,000 right now; and that's even if it was technically possible to shrink it down and get it running like that.

The Q is just for folk who have a PS5 and like the idea of playing the games on a handheld device around their home. Yes, you can do this via your mobile phone or your laptop PC if you want to; but that's a pretty clunky way of doing it so the Q provides a slicker option.

I think there's probably a lot of people that don't have a laptop or a second screen, but do have a partner that uses the TV a lot. It's not that outrageous a scenario to imagine, is it?

Its not, but then I am imagining the same number of people who are going to be willing to spend £200-£400 on the solution, which is what I think this will cost.

Especially when a big chunk also have an iPad no doubt, or an android. You could buy them for the same price if you didn't and have a bigger high quality screen and be able to use it for more than just streaming PlayStation games.

This thing needs to be like £100-£150 and locked down to PlayStation only to make it's money on subscriptions and digital sales. I think at £100 it could be quite popular and push downloads on the store.

Only if you are talking about keeping the same specs as the PS5. If they made the screen 720p60 then they could lower the processing power required as well (steamdeck at £350 says hi) and start mandating that new games come out with a 720p60 portable profile alongside the fidelity and performance modes.

It's a what if discussion anyway, they've made their business decisions. Fully expect this to be discounted to hell 3 years from now like the vita tv was, they sure like making niche peripherals.

For that sort a money, it'd be more worthwhile to buy a TV for the bedroom and play the PS5 in there when the wife is hogging the main TV.

If this has some kind of android OS and could be used with other services it seems like a no brainer. If it literally only works with the PS5 then it seems a bit pointless

If they have a phone (and aren't sociable enough to be interupted by lots phone calls) then they can do that already. The phone will likely be an OLED display too rather than the LCD screen here.

Steam deck already struggles with PS5 tier games. A true portable PS5 would be like £700+

Better off making a DualSense controller with adjustable clamps or whatever that attaches to the sides of an iPad/Tablet.

The PSP/Vita were such desirable pieces of hardware, especially when put up against that launch model Nintendo DS or what had come before from other manufacturers, whereas this Q thing has about as much sex appeal as your nan.
