Figured it out!!

LOOK at your purchase history from PSN in your e-mail inbox notice where it says TAX on your purchase…
See the 0.00 TAX from the last three weeks.

This is serious, sony has lost HUGE. we are on lockdown untill they fire the right people and make price
changes.

See my post called NO NEW TAXES in the PS forum and join the discussion HERE-http://community.us.playstation.com/thread/3423627

If this is true then that's a disgusting way to treat customers.

For under-charging customers? I mean not asking the full price for something is a mistake but in the end people who have bought stuff paid less i.e. Sony are the one who lost out.

Or is that not what it means and you are disgusted for some other reason?

That depends on how they strawberry floated up the tax, if they haven't charged it the that could be a legal issue. Disgusting because they have taken down the whole service worldwide and are giving no explanation.

I don't understand how it can be a legal issue. Is it not just that they lost out on the transaction i.e. it has no ramifications for it's customers?

Still, there's no need to take the whole service down to amend changes in regions outside of Europe.

It's still a legal requirement to supply a tax receipt, customers have been charged tax that isn't recorded, that's a legal issue for sure.

Of course...but it seems to suggest they haven't been charged tax. I really don't know but I would have thought Sony would take the brunt knowing how much tax would have needed to be paid by the content it sold and pay the IRS in kind.

Just a quick heads up guys (altho presumably Rabid will confirm this in due course)

I just spoke to a good friend of mine who works at Sony UK who's told me the network isn't going to be up in time for the BH weekend, so looks like it will be down until Tues at earliest.......Sorry to be bearer of bad news!

SP it is then.......

Funny the only time Rik has anything to say about Sony, it's to troll relentlessly, or pimp that overrated piece of gooseberry fool Killzone. Give it a rest, eh?

It doesn't work, I am a customer.

Just because you feel some sort of emotional bond with Sony it doesn't mean people will just ignore the fact the whole service is down for days the world over.

It obviously must be pretty serious as they stated it could be a third party attack, suggests they have no idea how to fix it if they don't know the problem.

I'll give it a rest when it works.

I have a bond with Sony  The only thing I'm seeing here us a man refusing to act his age over something so inconsequential as a PSN outage. Feel free to stop at any point, it's boring.

It's perverse that you are more annoyed by me than the fact your Playstation isn't working online

I have a PS3 and I'm not at all bothered as it will be back eventually and moaning about it is not going to make Sony work any faster.

I'm fine, just got my copy of Motorstorm Apocalypse, fancy a game..........

Looking at the timing of this I wonder if this is anything to do with Steam, seems problems started at the time it was released.

Well everyone can speculate all day long, but the fact is nobody knows for sure what's causing the outage, & I'm sure Sony are doing all they can to fix it.

I'm sure as frustrating as it is for gamers, it's just as frustrating for Sony - especially people writing to them saying to "fix it". "Yeah, no gooseberry fool."

I'm away from home for the weekend anyway, so not at all bothered by this. I just hope it's fixed by Monday.

Strange how game updates are still working.........

Some people seem to think that the entire security base has been compromised, credit card details the works. That's the only situation Sony would pull the plug worldwide for this length of time, worrying.

As has been said random scaremongering is not helping here.

Maybe they're on different servers or something.

The amount of times people have predicted doom and gloom of cataclysmic proportions for Sony over the years, & in the end it's all found a way of working itself out.
