The game is set for a June 19 release alongside the Sony Pictures film, but only on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 platforms. They will have a period of exclusivity lasting several months until the PSP edition is launched.

It is unclear exactly what will happen to the Xbox 360 version of the game, although GamesIndustry.biz understands that Atari may look to publish it later on.

This will be the third publisher within a year for the Ghostbusters game. The former Vivendi title was dropped by Activision in the merger last summer, before subsequently being picked up by Atari.

Has the Sony of old returned? Anyone with a PlayStation 1 will know SCEE used to publish everything under the sun.

Seems an odd thing for Sony and Atari to do after Atari picked it up to publish when Activision dropped it, specially as Sony didn't pick it up at that point. I guess they're using the "we own the license so do as we say" approach to force this on Atari perhaps now they've seen it's looking like it could be a big release.

This is a bit of a shitty move. Cheers Phil.

Doesn't make much business sense to delay the 360 and Wii versions, but I guess Atari received some form of compensation, and Sony might shift a handful more PS3s now.

As gooseberry fool as it is that I can't have my Wii version soon, it's about time Sony flexed the Sony Pictures muscles. They should lock down the Spider-Man movies too.

Yeah, it's hard not to assume there aren't some corporate dealings behind all this.

Sony should put the Ghostbusters blu ray movie on disc as well.

Its not like this is a new thing, the 360 has benefited from timed exclusives and the PS3 version being dropped, now just the same is happening in reverse.
