So we're looking at 3D animated models here and not video, right?

That would be my guess. Or maybe once the Rift is available some of the more artsy porn studios might start using fancy high-tech cameras to capture the entire 3D scene?

I just don't see anything with special cameras working, think about how it would have to respond to every tiny movement your head makes.

3D models would be the way to go, but who's PC could render animated photorealistic porn stars in 3D?

Well it may not appeal to sophisticated gentlemen such as yourself and I (ha), but there's already a fair market for non-photorealistic porn games.

I'm tempted to use the Beyond: Two Souls nude glitch as an example, will I get banned for posting it :?

You can link to it as long as you clearly mark what you're linking to. But, err, we can probably imagine what you mean without you posting it. :P

I mean that's probably the level of detail you could expect, not sure every developer would have the scanning equipment or the skill to pull it off though.

Oculus Sends Out Invites For Special Rift Event June 11

Oculus is inviting press to a special event on June 11 in San Francisco. The company provided the image above along with the invite (which also accompanied news consumer pre-orders would start later this year, which bears the tagline “Step into the Rift,” as well, suggesting we’ll probably get more information about the consumer Rift headset launch, including possibly more final hardware details.

Nick, it's stuff like this which annoys people about you. You weren't even the first to post this information, and you did the bare minimum.

You seem to think that posting something incomplete is better than posting nothing, but this just isn't always the case.

There's nothing worth quoting in that link, I've already given the only useful piece of information in the text above.

You mean the date of the conference that Garth posted?

Both sides of this argument could be solved if we could just ignore posts we don't find helpful or interesting, rather than getting pissy about them.

If you don't care about [Half-Life 3 banta | Nick's link spam], just scroll past it.

(And in general if you feel you'd do a better job being the OP of a thread than its existing OP, just PM a moderator and we'll do all the awkward passive-aggressive PMing and posting about it for you so you don't have to.)

:datass:

Can't wait to play a retail one. Hopefully they've got rid of the screen door effect and increased some of the peripheral vision so it doesn't feel like you're looking through a diving mask.

I write stuff like that all the time in unfinished copy.

It looks like a mockup for a Web page design and yeah, it's probably half a year out of date if it's genuine.

The "always on, always connected" part screams Facebook. :dread:

Yeah it was confirmed as an old mock up an hour ago. Designs might have drastically changed since last year.

There's no way they can go without a logotype i.e. just the "eye" icon this early. And surely it's going to have Facebook somewhere.

Quite like the touch controllers. Would love a chance to get to try them.
