Feeling like I'm tempted to buy this even though I already have a PSVR.

What's it actually like on PC, does this work with Steam games or do you have to buy stuff through Oculus?

Bit of both, but there is an absurd amount of content out there, just go for it.

I just did the tutorial with the robot but it was very impressive   The screendoor effect was very noticable when I started but I soon stopped caring and was amazed at the whole new world  The gun made me immediately think of Metroid so I'll be tinkering with Dolphin VR at some point. Half-Life 3 will be amazing in VR :toot:

I'm going to take a break to play Splatoon and get back to reality but I've got Echo Arena and Robo Recall ready for later :toot: How do I starting using Steam VR with the Rift?

I'll have to buy that so I'll try it after I work through the games that I already have. Robo Recall is fantastic and a good indication of how Doom VFR will work. Hopefully Descent Underground and Waltz of the Wizard are as exciting :toot:

I really want to robo recall but id have to use revive to play it and I don't like the idea of thst bodge at room scale.

If you do go for it there's a mod for it that adds native support for the Vive:
https://github.com/LibreVR/RoboRevive
(despite the name it doesn't actually use Revive)

I'm not sure exactly how it's different to simply playing it through Revive (haven't played it myself), but I imagine the controls are more refined since you're no longer emulating the Touch controllers with the Vive controllers, which can be a bit wonky in my experience.

I haven't got it yet and tonight is Mario Kart/Game of Thrones. I might not be free during the week but could do Saturday.

Yeah I forgot about GOT myself. Said to Crisp about tomorrow night.

I'll try and be free Saturday either way.

So I cancelled my order direct from Oculus and got it from Amazon.

The Rift arrived this morning, Touch controllers coming tomorrow. Got everything setup and it seems to be ok so far, its definitely not as easy to adjust or get on and off as the PSVR, also I can't quite seem to get it adjusted so that it completely blocks out everything outside, there seems to be light coming in around the nose.

Played a couple of the Elite Dangerous tutorials though and it is pretty amazing.

Wondering if anyone has bought anything to store the headset in? Could do with a case I think.

Once you get the fit right it becomes easier to take on and off, I found myself constantly adjusting at first. The strap at the back of your head is supposed to be quite low down rather than on the back of your head and I found getting that positioned right makes a world of difference. The nose gap is meant to be there, I usually find that I stop noticing it once I'm playing and actually quite like being able to use it to find things outside of VR, I do seem to remember people selling alternate face plates that will cover it though if it's really bothering you. I think the company was VR Cover but I might be wrong, the Oculus Reddit is quite a good community to ask for that though.

I don't actually use a box to store mine, I attached one of these (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 ... UTF8&psc=1) to the side of the unit above my computer desk, the top of the headset rests perfectly on the bracket without setting off the sensor and it makes it nice and stable and easy to access. I also have one similar to this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Headphone-6amL ... one+hanger) on the other side for the touch controllers themselves.

Not sure I want to keep mine out anywhere, could do with somewhere to put it, even if its just to keep the dust off the lenses a bit more.

Just got my Touch sensors up and running after a bit of a mess around with the USB ports I've got (bought a new compatible 4 port USB PCI-E card and installed it, took a bit of messing with to get the Oculus to play nice with it). At the moment I'm just one the two sensor 360 setup, room scale should come with the extra sensor I've got ordered that's set to turn up on Monday, but it seems to be working ok so far.

Got the free stuff downloading now and contemplating purchasing one of the sale packs, any particularly good stuff I should be looking at (I've seen some good things written about Lone Echo)?

What GPU have you got H? Now these have dropped in price I want to pick up Rock Band VR finally but I'm hoping I can get away with a low spec GPU as it's Rock Band and I don't need it to look fancy so much

Its a 970 (the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming card), I've got an overclocked i5 3570K (running at 4.6 Ghz). So far I've not had to tweak any graphical settings and everything has just worked, not sure what settings the games are being put on (I'd imagine its either low or mid range settings), but they seem to be able to run ok.

Bought it on PSVR before I knew I was going to get this. I've no doubt it'd be better on Oculus (the tracking blows Move away not surprisingly) and I might get it just to do the comparison, but I really want a recommendation of something I can't get on PSVR at all.

Robo Recall seems to be pretty cool and its not like I don't have plenty to be going on with (as well as the free stuff a bunch of Steam games I already have are VR compatible).

There's Lone Echo which has just come out for £29.99, the Summer of Rift Adventure Pack (The Climb, Raw Data, Sports Bar VR and I Expect You to Die) for £52.99 and the Action Pack for £39.99 (Superhot VR, Wilson's Heart and Fantastic Contraption). Got to make my mind up because the Packs are only available for a couple more days.

Got my 3rd Sensor setup and working.

Bought the Adventure Pack with I Expect You to Die, Raw Data and The Climb (it also has Sports Bar VR, but I'm not too bothered about that).

Just been trying them out.

I Expect You to Die seems like a great use of VR, basically a series of VR puzzle rooms in a 60s Bond theme, it seems somewhat more polished than similar VR fair.

Raw Data is the opposite of polished, its been in early access for a year. On the other hand it seems to be a pretty fully featured VR FPS and what I've managed to play so far is pretty encouraging.

Only played 15 minutes or so of The Climb, but so far its pretty damn amazing with the Touch controllers.
